[Illgaming] Why we’re looking forward to DmC…and why you should too.

DmC: Devil May Cry is just a few days from hitting the shelves. Illgaming managed to get their hands on a final build of the game and they're pumped.

Even though this game is getting good ratings, most dmc fans aren't "pumped" for this game. If platinum games made this, I would buy it. I'm just soured on ninja theory. Most of us dmc fans have made up our minds and these articles won't change that.

The hate is not because of only Donte. I got a copy and have already played 10 missions of the game yesterday and it is a decent game on its own but not a good DMC game. I have been playing on nephilim difficulty and enemies are extremely stupid. Enemies take at least 2 to 3 seconds to complete their attack animation and are never able to hit you. Bosses are similarly easy once you discover the intended formula for beating them. I killed succubus without getting hit even once. And I am just a decent DMC player of original DMCs. Basically the game is extremely easy and enemy AI is beyond stupid. That is the main problem with this game. In addition the story and level design are dumb as well. The supposedly "ever changing world of limbo" are just pre-planned cut-scenes and not dynamic. Even the platforms for latching on to are pre-planned and only work in one intended direction.

If Platinum games made this new "Donte" in 60fps and with a lock-on button, then I guarantee you that they wouldn't get even half the hate Ninja Theory got.

But don't worry, most of the gaming media has decided months (if not years) ago that this game is a 10/10 masterpiece. So even though the game will be a commercial flop, it will be a Metacritic success.

The only reason to be excited for this game is to use it as an example of what bad game design is, what poor and inexcusable choices the developers did, and what poor choices capcom made by continuing to support it despite everything ninja theory was doing and saying. I can understand the choice to reboot a franchise but when the devs you choose insult fans, the series creator, Japanese developers in general and keep doing everything to make the game an series look bad then capcom should have stepped in and smacked them in the back of the head tools it right or found a different developer that can make good games and also has experience in the genre.

As all the leaks and the demo go to show, the game is horribly designed with bad writing to boot and horrible bugs NT has already claimed dont exist in the demo and are preset in the final game.

I feel that there is so much more important things in the world to worry about than hating on a video game. Play the game first, then give valid and reasonable criticism. Don't give premature criticism based on just being a fan of the series. This is what annoys me most about the stupid complaints.

Oh yeah? I have played the game and I have posted my "valid" criticisms a few posts aboves. Is that enough for you or do you want me to buy the DLC and inevitable "super extra arcade" edition as well before I post my opinion?
Oh and if there are so many things better than to hate on a game then there are even more better things to do than playing a game. Why not just give up everything, join a human relief organization and devote your life to helping humanity in third world countries?

Did I say that he wasn't welcomed or entitled to his opinion? Was I not replying to someone else's post? There are many people who haven't played the game that are already criticizing it like they already have. I read his opinion on the game. Did I call him out for it? Yet, because my opinion is the one that's making me appear to be "that guy," I get called out. My first opinion didn't just randomly come out of no where did it? I think there are ways to go about voicing your opinion about a game, and that is what I suggested. Just because Capcom is "destroying your favorite franchise" doesn't mean you should wish terrible things on the company that employees many people. That is just one of the examples of some of the comments people make. It gets very irritating, considering it wasnt like this last gen where people just played a game because they wanted to.There are ways to fight this outlandish disdain for the game than nonsensical complaints. Perhaps, your wallet? This is capcoms IP, not the peoples.

I can't like DmC as much as I can't make others dislike it, it's a matter of conflicting opinion and needs to be left at that.

i saw a complete walkthrough and now i know im not getting the game even used.
There are like every 20 seconds cutscenes everywhere
and all bosses look so easy..

I watched the streams the game is about 7 hours long and 2hours out of those if not a bit more is all cut-scenes. It's like they they couldn't decide whether they wanted to make a movie or a game,because there's cut-scenes at every corner even in mid battles.

That photo makes me so sad, and I am not even a fan of the original Devil May Cry. What I mean by "not a fan" is that although they are quality titles, they just weren't my cup of tea.

But every time I see that photo I, somehow, understand how some people are feeling about this DmC thingamajig.

Also if I see ONE more person repeatedly spell Dante "DONTE" I'm going to lose it.(jk)

I have also had this game since friday and am currently on level 12 on nephilim,and this is the best action game in a long time.If people think this game is to easy, then we should see them at number 1 on the leaderboards on hell vs hell difficulty.I love everything about this game from the story to combat.Trust me guys the boss battles are not to easy.The combat works really well, you can switch between weapons and moves with ease.It might not please everyone,but what game does.The game really encourages you to play better,to mix things up,not get hit, be faster,i cant put it down and its the most fun ive had in a long time.If you have any questions ,i will answer.
