He still looks lame even with the silver hair lol. Not AS bad as he did in the first shots of the game, but not much better either.

Root4114d ago

For me it looks forced...I don't know why but it just looks like it doesn't belong on him with the current design. It's like they've just done it to please people when in fact there's been too much damage control

Seriously this game is terrible and it's been getting good reviews so far....funny how it's all of the big sites/mags, the ones who have been defending them suddenly in the last month.

blitz06234114d ago

I see it like a troll move. Seriously, they are already aware of people not liking the new look, then they go on ahead and force the old Dante's hair color unto this.

ABizzel14114d ago

Black hair looks better. If they were going to do this then they should have used original look Dante, not just permanent white hair (silver).

I'm still looking forward to the game.

HammadTheBeast4114d ago

I don't give a f%#* about the new look, silver won't make me like him any more. The gameplay mechanics themselves are flawed.

DragonKnight4114d ago

They can give him rainbow colored hair and he'd still be butt fugly. His facial structure is the biggest problem, but his hairstyle is also terrible no matter what colour it is because he's molded after Tameem.

This is a clear troll move so that they can use it against legitimately concerned fans later. Yet another reason this game is terrible. Tameem may Cry needs to flop.

Temporary4114d ago

Why is it so cool to hate on this game ...? I dont get it ... it's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, I was expecting a disaster and it really wasnt bad at all...

To each their own though, I also loved Heavenly Sword but that seems to be a popular game to knock down as well ...

I feel the reviews so far are pretty accurate ... people who keep saying it's horrible told themselves that before the demo even came out...so they were never going to like it regardless.

saladthieves4114d ago (Edited 4114d ago )

I have a feeling that were it Capcom doing this reboot, they would probably lock down these end-game unlocks on disc and ask us to pay for them as DLC instead.

AsimLeonheart4114d ago (Edited 4114d ago )

I got a copy and have already played 10 mission of the game yesterday and it is a decent game on its own but not a good DMC game. I have been playing on nephilim difficulty and enemies are extremely stupid. Enemies take at least 2 to 3 seconds to complete their attack animation and are never able to hit you. Bosses are similarly easy once you discover the intended formula for beating them. I killed succubus without getting hit even once. And I am just a decent DMC player of original DMCs. Basically the game is extremely easy and enemy AI is beyond stupid. That is the main problem with this game. In addition the story and level design are dumb as well. The supposedly "ever changing world of limbo" are just pre-planned cut-scenes and not dynamic. Even the platforms for latching on to are pre-planned and only work in one intended direction.

DragonKnight4113d ago

@Temporary: That's another thing I've been hearing about this issue, that it's "cool to hate on DmC." It isn't about being "cool" it's about the fact that the game is terrible. Heavenly Sword can be forgiven because its Ninja Theory's first attempt at a first game and it's decent. DmC has a pedigree to live up to and it doesn't. It is a mishmash of other games and story ideas. Ninja Theory are incapable of moving passed stuff they've already done and it shows.

DmC has a lot wrong with it, and that's bad enough but Ninja Theory have been showing an unwarranted arrogance and utter disdain for the fans that built the Devil May Cry franchise up from the ground with our money. Capcom have been just as bad and have even gone so far as to try silencing those who have posted legitimate concerns about the game. Everything about this game screams rotten to the core and the ending and subsequent "rewards" are the icing on the cake.

Nimblest-Assassin4114d ago

Umm I know barely nothing about devil may cry as a franchise

But wasn't this an origin story or something? I mean wasn't he going to end up with white hair by the end anyways?

Baka-akaB4114d ago

It's not an official origin story . It's a reboot , its own thing

PopRocks3594114d ago

Capcom claimed it was an "alternate reality" at some point I think. But by and large it's a reboot, not canon with the original four games.

maximus19854114d ago

its not just the hair, its the emo guy, emo world, the problem will always be that they changed drastically what didnt need fixing. that said i hope im wrong but well see when the reviews come in

PopRocks3594114d ago

The sad thing is I KNEW they would do this; they would find a way to shoehorn the old hair color into the game to appease fans.

Screw this crap. I hated the demo because the story was stupid, the dialogue was horribly written and the general gameplay was balls compared to the old four games (especially 3 and 4).

Dante's hair is the least of this game's problems. I'm passing.

oh my god, oh my god, they gave him white hair, now its a 10/10, forget the downgrades, and PR trash talk, he has white hair now, so its a 10/10,-_-

zerocrossing4114d ago (Edited 4114d ago )

Don't you remember? the hair was always us haters problem, everythings gumdrops and rainbows now. /S

zerocrossing4114d ago (Edited 4114d ago )

So does this make DmC not suck anymore too?

League_of_Draven4114d ago

It never did suck. Old DMC fanboys were just butthurt & in denial because the game has been getting a lot of good ratings even from Japanese publications.

BlaqMagiq244114d ago

Famitsu gave Resident Evil 6 a 39/40 and looked how that turned out. So now that Famitsu gave DmC a 34/40 it's trustworthy? LOL! Sorry but you ain't fooling us "old DMC fanboys!"

zerocrossing4114d ago

You know I usually just ignore people who use the term "fanboys" "butthurt" and "haters" they tend to be immature and lack much credibility.

The train wreck that is RE6 got good reviews, and I fail to see how Japanese publications have much credibility in the matter.

They are trying to promote a west and east developed game, If you know anything about japan and west relations yourd know that of course their media will approve.

VileAndVicious4114d ago (Edited 4114d ago )

Dude RE 6 wasnt even all that bad...
It was no better or worse than RE5 (which I hated, but still)
I personally think it was w bit overblown....
Capcom probably should have just made the game about Leon and been done with it

zerocrossing4114d ago

I have RE6 and it annoys the hell out of me sometimes, but I do agree it's not all that bad, just a few bad game mechanics and design decisions.

That final boss for Chris! damn, don't get me started there haha, I would have rage quit if it wasn't for finally working out the trick.

Honestly though, it's an RE game so I was expecting better, the graphics are great but the mechanics fail it... IMO of course.

VileAndVicious4114d ago

Agreed. A friend of mine had it and we beat it over the holidays. I felt like there were way too many QTEs. And of course the story was blah...But I thought coop was pretty fun

Pintheshadows4114d ago

Chris's campaign was a mess but as say, it wasn't that bad. I was however still disappointed as it should of been alot better.

nolifeking4114d ago

So now being "not that bad" is a good thing? Not that bad still means bad and RE6 was just that.

VileAndVicious4114d ago

Um Semantics? Not bad means not bad...
Which means that the game wasn't a bad game, meaning it wasn't perfect it also wasn't horrible it was just OK.

I dont live in a black and white world...sometimes there are shades of grey.

nolifeking4114d ago

I live in a world where "not all that bad" means it was bad, just not terribly, or, not horrible but unpleasant. RE6 was bad, not all that bad, but bad nonetheless so shades of grey change nothing. Black, white or purple something being " not good" is just that.

zerocrossing4114d ago (Edited 4114d ago )

Yeah, when I say RE6 is "not all that bad" I meant it's bad but not so bad as to justify a lot of the hate the game received.

Poorly implemented game mechanics, way too many QTE's, complete detraction from survival horror, ammo was scarce but just made combating enemies frustrating instead of tense, the over use of action cutscenes took you out of the game and they just became, meh.

Also somehow they actually managed to ruine Leons character for me, I'll never forgive them for that one, haha.

So yeah, not the worst game, but Its pretty awful for what you'd expect from RE.

ApolloTheBoss4114d ago

LOL this is a pathetically obvious suck-up move on Capcom's part.

Chucky20034114d ago

no,that change has to do with the story

ApolloTheBoss4114d ago (Edited 4114d ago )

Lol yeah, sure it does.

Chucky20034114d ago

yes its does,i finished the game, you only try to find something to hate this game, but its actually a good game

ApolloTheBoss4114d ago (Edited 4114d ago )

Look at those pictures. It looks like they slapped on that hair color and called it a day to please the people who were complaining. It doesn't even look natural compared to his original design, which was already terrible to begin with. Plus, even if it was part of the plot, it doesn't really take much to change up the story to fit the too convenient and "coincidental" change to his hair, maybe a few extra months. Bottom line is, they're sucking up to the fan-base, when they should have stood their ground and had confidence in their game. Wake up and stop being a sheep, friend.

WeAreLegion4114d ago

He's right. It's part of the story. The game is fantastic. Are you guys not seeing the 8's to 10's the game is receiving or are you just ignoring that?

Chucky20034114d ago (Edited 4114d ago )

bla bla bla bla,you only know to complain, those pictures are deformed, still, yeah it looks better with black hair,so what??you don't like the game ,don;t buy it ,but i'm tired of kids like you complaining like a bitch for every small thing in a game when you didn't even played the game

Snookies124114d ago

I played the demo, that was enough to lose my interest after being with the series since the first game...

Lionalliance4114d ago (Edited 4114d ago )

There's more post-game rewards than this, one in particular everyone will like :)

OptimisticPrime4114d ago

Is it something you get from normal difficulty or do you have to beat the crazy difficulties first?

DragonKnight4114d ago

"There's more post-game rewards than this, one in particular everyone will like :)"

The ending credits.
