a newspaper doing a game review, what a joke... And to say that it is better than DMC3 the guy most be nuts. But it's understandable, the battle system on the reboot was made for the casuals.

And they are credible... Battle system is in no way faithful to the series when they completely turned it into a button masher with broken damage boost after a dodge, gave you infinite air-time, changed styles for weapon switching ala Heavenly Sword, etc.

I've played it, btw. And if I were to chose between this and, say DMC2, I'd take black haired, douchebag Dante any day of the week. Actually tried DMC4 again after this, and the control system now feels clumsy in comparison.

In fact, DmC: Devil May Cry isn't just a solid DMC. It's the best DMC, game of the year and the best game of all time. It's the crowning achievement of mankind and infinitely better than anything made by other species.

Ok, maybe I went a little overboard there. But it's good.

They make those to demonstrate the game you know? and the finished product doesn't tend to be much different in quality, that said the demo sucked, IMO of course.

I played the demo and I played it at Eurogamer in September and I enjoyed it. The combat system is pretty nice and theres a good video on youtube showing all the animation cancellations and stuff. If the gameplay is good then whats the problem? I have been playing DmC since DMC1 and I really enjoyed it.

It's easier, it's broken, theres no skill involved a CORE mechanic of the old games, weapons aren't creative, characters are boring then the old ones, Donte is a douchebag now.....oh and it's not even 60fps....ANOTHER STEP BACK.

Seriously what's going on, your supposed to review the game as a sequel to the old games, if it doesn't take a step forward but rather a step back for the franchise as a whole then it's not good...mark it down.

A sequel is about improving on from the last game, seriously I feel it's all about money behind closed doors.

So who really needs assurance? Those that have liked the game or those who have hated it from the start. But honestly had it be given a 7 or whatever I still would buy it. Because I've enjoyed the demo personally

I noticed that whenever someone says they enjoyed the demo, they receive disagrees or people attacking them for liking the game. zerocrossing, GIVE IT A REST. I understand why people dislike the direction of DMC but you also have to accept the fact that people may actually like the game.

Btw its a reboot so think fresh and take it as it is and judge afterwards. If you're a fanatic play the older ones simple as that. Simple way to put it is that in various comics of dc and marvel etc so many superheroes die, get screwed, change look and all sorts of crap happen and then are reborn in a weird way. Cant do much about it, the creators feel like it so well what can u do? Take it in a fresh perspective. If you miss your old comics go back to it.

Its amazing how much "fans" seem to know about this game!! Shit might as well tell us the ending if you know the game inside out. Why flame on a game that you've yet to even play!?! It's just ridiculous. Change is good sometimes you know...especially considering the rot Capcom has got themselves into as of late. Resident Evil 4 marked their last great entry in Resi games. Resident 5 started the downward spiral for them. Resident Evil 6 sucked big balls. Revelations on the other hand was a legit game. So back to Devil may Cry...considering Capcoms way of thinking recently with their top franchises, I'd much rather let Capcom stop touching their MilkCows and let somebody else have a stab at it. Give it a chance.

I agree 100% after only playing the demo. I loved DMC 1, part 2 was crap, part 3 back on track, but felt a bit stale, then DMC4 was just an uninspired, back trackathon. I don't know why supposed DMC fans have there titties in a bunch.. Sometimes I think they just like to read there own whining, whinging, rants on the interwebs.
Get over it, Ninja Theory are awesome developers & have simply made Dante look more manly, as opposed to the old Dante that looked like a platinum haired Elton John former lover, who stole Michael Jacksons red leather jacket & pants.
I can't wait to play more of Dmc, as the new artstyle & level designs mixed with lashing of old feeling gameplay really show Capcom made the right decision by letting a fresh development team take a crack at this one.

i got this game friday morning and ime 12 hours in on nephilm difficulty,it is the best game ive played in a long time.The first level had me thinking it was not going to be very good,but after the second level i was hooked.Swapping weapons through the d pad works really well and the way the levels swap between limbo and the real world really makes the game.ime on level 12,there are 20 levels and loads of secret levels as well, and ive been told you unlock a 100 wave bonus after completion.This game is a joy to play,and on nephilm pretty hard,some of the achievements will push the very best players to there limits.It encourages you to mix it up and get style points, for me the demo level is the weakest level so far.I no it will score high on reviews.
