Could this be one of the first games Published under Activision where the developers actually have some sense of freedom in the creative process? I really hope this game is not a flop, and not a 'really good' game. I hope it is an amazing game, like a Bioshock or Uncharted 2.

The gaming worlds eyes will be on Bungie when they have a complete reveal of this game, most likely at E3. I hope for their sake that they can succeed where others have failed. Bungie seem like a really down-to-earth developer, from the tours of their studio to their casual MP sessions with Naughty Dog.

Parasyte4119d ago

I kinda lost my faith in Bungie after Halo: Reach, but I will reserve my judgment on their new IP until I see more about it.

And, one of the stipulation in their contract with Activision was the fact that they retain full ownership and control of their IPs. Acti can't touch them.

DasTier4119d ago

Uncharted 2 was actually a game?

Zechs344119d ago

There's always a critic...

Wait, What? You're not a journalist?

Oh yeah, just a troll.

Keep moving, nothing to see here!

MikeMyers4119d ago (Edited 4119d ago )

Of course there is, just like people who are adamant talking about exclusives like Uncharted.

Do you find it ironic how an article talking about Bungie branching out to more platforms now retracts back to the discussion of exclusives like Uncharted 2? The discussion should be on Bungie, not promoting Naughty Dog because then that leads to attacks. Needless attacks most likely because Naughty Dog is an exclusive developer.

Some people on N4G just don't have to maturity to deal with exclusives. Which is why we have those who will question Uncharted 2 being a game or not when we all know it was one of the best games out there. Once a discussion gets sidetracked then the focus shifts away from what the original topic is about. We see it all the time and people use exclusives as some sort of leverage which is also childish. The best advice is to ignore the trolls and mark them and move on. Slowly they will get less power because they will get less abilities to talk and make comments. When you keep replying to them you are empowering them and giving them the attention they want. Some are persistent and just comment in more articles but I would just ignore them as well. There's only so much the community can do to prevent them from trolling or attacking others. You're not going to get anywhere by responding.

Bungie probably wants as many to enjoy their games as possible. I tend to agree with that philosophy. If companies like Sony want to have their own studios to promote the hardware that's fine but Activision is not one of those publishers. I can't see them investing in Bungie to limit who can buy the games they make.

Yep. That awesomeness wasn't CGI.

KMCROC544119d ago

Thier fuck if this game fails,Activision will fire them in a heart beat. But good luck.

Catoplepas4119d ago (Edited 4119d ago )

If that were to happen, I wouldn't put it past Activision to harvest Bungie's organs, to recoup their losses.

NukaCola4119d ago

Activision has never purchased a company and bleed them until the die. /s

Crash Bandicoot
Spyro the Dragon
Tony Hawk
Guitar Hero

Bungie could of went with anyone. Activision is so much worse than where they were a year ago.

modesign4119d ago

cant wait to play this on ps3.

Ezz20134119d ago (Edited 4119d ago )

soo it's official
their next game is going to hit pc/ps3 as well
but i thought people here said Destiny is an exclusive to 360

DasTier4119d ago

What people had said was that to game is a timed exclusive, by about a year intact. I believe it actually still is.

Bungie Replaces Marathon Director Amid Leadership Shakeup, Fears of Layoffs

Amid ongoing anxiety within Bungie following layoffs last year, the studio is now preparing for another shakeup, this time on Marathon.

Kaii34d ago

Layoffs should be hitting the incompetent management at this point.

Profchaos34d ago

Talk about mismanaged Bungie is a studio of tremendous potential and have made some of the greatest shooters to date. Sony pushed them to just make another Destiny style game and consult on other studios live service games and are now getting thrown under a bus as the pivot away from predominantly gaas games is unfolding.

I'd love to see a world where Bungie can focus on telling great sci fi stories again away from a live service dungeon but we all know that's a pipe dream

Rynxie34d ago (Edited 34d ago )

Are you serious? Do you just talk out of your arse naturally, or did it take years of being a POS?

Profchaos34d ago

You normally get so offended by internet comments or did it take years of being soft

purple10134d ago (Edited 34d ago )

Yes I see your point mate, someone clearly didn’t read the article.

Specifically the bit:

“Notably, multiple sources at the time and since have shared that Sony has largely left the studio to sort out its own troubles and was not responsible for the layoffs, with CEO Pete Parsons taking responsibility.“

He’s just spouting nonsense

Huey_My_D_Long34d ago

lol what so fucking hilarious is that you called him out so bad he projected him being offended onto you.

Its been well documented that Bungie's management has been more responsible for their shortfalls, even mentioned in said article that we are commenting on.

Its ok, just admit you didn't read the article.

MIDGETonSTILTS1734d ago

Arrowhead Studios will be Sony’s GaaS consult now.

Gameseeker_Frampt34d ago

I like how for some, it is never Bungie's fault. Microsoft, Activision, and now Sony - it is everyone else who is pushing Bungie to make all these bad decisions.

-Foxtrot33d ago

Thrown under the bus?

Are you joking? This is all Bungie, we all thought it was 100% Activision but it's clear the higher ups at Bungie don't have a clue how to run the studio and are more bothered about saving their own skin and the money that they rake in.

Sony gave them an extra $1.2 Billion to make sure that employees didn't leave and they didn't have to cut anyones jobs. Where did that money go because Bungie still cut peoples jobs and I bet you the higher management still kept a hold of their big fact paychecks and bonuses.

Sony invested poorly in this and the best thing they can do now is throw the old Bungie management out and take hold of the studio fully.

MIDGETonSTILTS1733d ago

Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Somebody at Bungie is the golden goose making great shooting mechanics, and the rest need to justify their paychecks.

This studio has had three owners and its never worked well with any of them....Management has issues

ChasterMies33d ago (Edited 33d ago )

Worked very well for Microsoft. Microsoft’s mistake was letting Bungie go.

Fearmonkey32d ago

it worked so well with MS that they so wanted to be away from them they bought the company back. Only to do it again with activision-blizzard, and then sold to Sony...Sony shouldn't have bought them...Bungie hasnt been the same for a long time..

As someone who bought every story DLC for DESTINY 2 but not every season. the first thing I would do as game director is , if anybody pre-orders The ?Final Shape , they will be able to play all older DLC and seasons with purchase of FINAL SHAPE. . I think that would bring back a lot of DESTINY 2 plsyers who have not experienced the seasons a chance to play season activities before Final Shape comes out.

DickyD122681d ago

I agree but I was just able to get all dlcs for 50 on steam. (Have it on PlayStation but don't always have access to the TV)
