Why do people pre-order? For a poster

Godchild10204121d ago (Edited 4121d ago )

I guess you don't shop on Amazon, Newegg or other online retailers. Sometimes they offer the games at reduced prices or give a 5 to 20 credit to use on a later purchase. There is also extra DLC as preorder bonuses that change the game a little and sometimes DLC that you would have to pay for at a later date.

Borderlands 2 and the Mechromancer Class as an example. There is also that physical item that you get when you preorder something, the steel case for example when you preorder Ni No Kuni.

Actually I pre-order for different reasons - Lets say you have $250 to spend on games going into the holidays.. What to do, what to do??? LoL

1. One reason to pre-order is to get it out of the way, I have the money now, and the game does not come out until months from now... So if I wait that money will go to other things..

2. Another reason, the main one for me is sometimes deals get me to pre-order for example Newegg's Black Friday had $12 dollars off all pre-orders so everything was $47 bucks no tax and free shipping.. -to good to pass up

I pre-ordered everything... LoL (doesn't seem like much right, but it adds up, for example those 5 games added up -I just saved 60 bucks... (free game and those games are games I was going to buy anyway so why not pre-order)

So that was a no-brainier pre-order everything and get a free game.. + get free shipping and no tax + DLC bonuses

-come on who doesn't pre-order is a better question?

Crysis 3
GTA V
Bioshock Infinite
The Last Of Us
God Of War Acension

Free GAME - Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Patriots or Tomb Raider.. (not sure yet)

I preordered The Last of Us to get the soundtrack, but you are right. Most preorder bonuses are lame and if you wait after release, amazon almost always ha price drops for a short time

Seeing how both GOW:A and DMC are not talked about very often here,I'm surprised to see them in the top ten list.

catch4120d ago

Haha if N4G were anything remotely resembling the actual gaming public DmC wouldn't be up there at all or even breaking the thousands of pre-orders let alone over 100,000.

I do see a bit of GoW:A hype on here time to time though.

Crazyglues4120d ago

I'm a little disappointed in GOW:A for one they went with the same game engine..

So there won't be that wow factor we had when you first saw GOWIII - but hopefully the game is still good..

Also like Jaffe said I wish they would have added new mechanics.. I mean dam you got the same engine so what the hell are you working on- if you don't add new mechanics.. Sadly it looks like it went to working on multi-player

(let me explain, I would love if in the single player every time you faced a mid level boss it would do crazy animation like not just the press X but give you a chance to do something crazy like a super move.

-were you stick the blades with the chain in him and swing him into a wall and then back into the screen and then finish him.. you know just a little extra to make the single player more special. you can't just do the same thing from GOWIII. ..imo

And I hope they did some nice cutscene's that tell the story more I love some nice story driven CGI like in GOW II (Loved the story telling in that one)

Anyway fingers are crossed day-one buy for me, I just hope it turns out to be an epic game..

Something about recreating old school graphics in an era of HD high poly photo realism just hits a spot. I'm not nostalgic cause I mostly played GameCube and GB/A, but it's a visual style that gets over looked even by indies.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos1h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
