IGN;The War Z misses the mark at almost everything it does. It’s rife with bugs and other tech issues, and the large amount of guns has turned it into a place where meaningful player interactions rarely occur. It needs a lot of work to become something that feels like a proper release, and is in dire need of the slew of promised features to make it more than rarely entertaining. This is a prime example of a game that oversells and underdelivers.
Let's face it, there are some hated games out there that are just complete trash. The developers responsible for these games usually have little clue about game balancing and their poor decisions usually leave their game to die in the dust.
However, sometimes a developer will make an absolutely terrible game that still has some admirable game mechanics.

(Although, statistically speaking, the game was released fall 2012. But, considering the majority of "GOTY Awards" had been decided upon, and due to this games horrendous gameplay, it would be shameful to exclude it from this years nominations... )

War Z is the biggest piece of garbage from 2012
I can't imagine how someone dies by hackers or campers comes back to that game 4 hours later. I seriously can't wait to play for a game where dying is common. Not four hours at least.
