Splinter Cell: Blacklist's "economy system" is explained, seeks to reward players

There are three ways to play Ubisoft's upcoming Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and the game aims to reward players for doing well within each of them by incorporating what is called "the economy system." Unlike the real-world economy, it also aims to be fair, balanced and easy to understand.

StrongMan4117d ago

There was a lot of hype from a certain group of people for Splinter Cell Conviction but almost no hype for Splinter Cell Blacklist. Why is that?

TheFirstClassic4117d ago (Edited 4117d ago )

People learned their lesson with Conviction?

Seriously, the ability to tag up to four people and kill them all with a press of a button is ridiculous. Not saying this will be a bad game but they have made some sorry choices for Splinter Cell.

Bathyj4117d ago

Used to be 2 guys in the same room was a challenge. Stalking, biding your time. The tag and execute made a mockery of classic Splinter Cell gameplay. They might have well just made it a generic 3rd person shooter.

nukeitall4117d ago

It's kind of sad this game isn't more anticipated. I loved Splinter Cell: Conviction (and the prior games as well).

I'm really looking forward to Blacklist, except the new character build and voice. It's not quite the same without Michael Ironside.

Allsystemgamer4117d ago

I honestly wish they made a new ip instead of changing splinter cell as it was perfectly fine. Chaos theory is still top notch.

Sidewinder-4117d ago (Edited 4117d ago )

Because Conviction went dead for a long time. Then all of a sudden it came back out of the blue. I was hyped about the original Conviction, despite it's obvious similarity to Ass Creed. But they went back to the drawing board and this is what we got.

The game turned out to be some EZ Mode stealth-lite game; more attuned to casual baby necessities than what a Splinter Cell game should be.

Half of the people who bought it won't be duped into buying a game in which they know is being developed in a similar fashion.

On the flip side there is of course all those casual nooby babies, that get off on features such as Mark and Execute, aka the 'Shit Easy System'; (which went on to find its way into multiple games after that like Hitman Absolution; another turd game made for people who don't like its respective previous games. PATTERNS HERE?)

It made money. So they'll continue. First order of business. Make the shit easy system EVEN MORE EASY! Move'n'Mark'n' Execute! heehehee, The babies will be wowed by that!

Will not buy lul. Watch the Spys vs Mercs turn into some generic waist-high-wall-hugging shooty bang-bang game where magic numbers pop up in the middle of the screen, to make you feel good about making a kill with auto-aim.

It'll get mad reviews though, of course.

jimbobwahey4117d ago

Probably because Conviction was exclusive and Blacklist isn't.

Bathyj4117d ago

I think its more like because Conviction was pre-Conviction and this is post-Conviction.

shutUpAndTakeMyMoney4117d ago (Edited 4117d ago )

They should add stealth to this game I think It would be cool!

Summons754117d ago

you clearly missed the alternate stealth e3 demo they did because children don't understand what demoing off new concepts means and cried.

Bathyj4117d ago

Clearly you have to spell out sarcasm with a big /s for it to be recognized on the internet.

LOL you work for the government sam but you've gotta make you're on money bahahhahaa. I hope this fucking IP runs into the ground because the faster it does the faster we can have a reboot and move on from this crap.

Honest_gamer4117d ago

im not getting this game, i just wanted to post to inform you all that im not gettng it, have a nice day

Bathyj4117d ago (Edited 4117d ago )

Thanks man. I was wondering what your stance would be on this title. ;)

EDIT
Yeah I hope you took that as lighthearted as I meant it. I mean I put the wink thingy in there.

Honest_gamer4117d ago

good, you got one approve and one bubble for that comment! i just thought with all the usless crap that will be posted, i may as well add into it lol

TENTONGUN4117d ago

i will get it. not cause its sc, but because it looks decent in its own right. but i would prefer a different old school evolution of chaos theory though.

Bathyj4117d ago (Edited 4117d ago )

Its good that you can use alternate play styles, but I hope you do get punished for assault. If you want to go all guns blazing I think one or two hits should kill you and no regenerating health. Going loud should be a last resort.

Ive always been a panther style player, not a ghost. I always sneak and go slow, in every game that lets you, but I dont sneak past, I kill everyone and try to stay undetected. Thats why I'm loving Farcry 3 at the moment.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell - A Decade in the Shadows

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell has been out of action for a decade, so it's time to look back at 2013's Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

CoNn3rB241d ago

Sam Fisher is evidently the most skilled stealth operative because no-one has seen him in his own game for years

kevco33241d ago

10 years, in fact. He must be, like, 60 by now?

phoenixwing241d ago (Edited 241d ago )

why make an inspired game that takes effort when you can half ass it with multiplayer gaas games and filler filled assassins creed games?

That question up there is the reason you don't see splinter cell games

zarbor241d ago

Yup, another example that Ubisoft has no idea what they are doing.

MIDGETonSTILTS17241d ago

The entire mark and execute system belonged in another game.

It’s cool, but the polar opposite to how Sam Fisher initially handled.

The original trilogy made shooting very, very difficult, yet a viable option, which ultimately motivates stealth.

The mark/execute system makes shooting stupid easy, to the point of why would you even bother trying stealth as an alternative?

FYouDad240d ago

Because Ghost is the method fans of the series actually prefer? IMark and execute is never forced upon the player you liiterally never have to bother using it even once throughout Blacklist.

Tody_ZA241d ago

The sad part is that I actually really enjoyed the last game, Blacklist. It may have lacked the iconic voice but the gameplay was excellent, and blended stealth, action and a mix really great compared to most games, where none of the three options felt like the wrong way to play. I really hope they either produce a remake of the original game or a proper sequel.

Rikimaru-00241d ago

Isn't UBI Soft remaking splinter cell.

Sam Fisher Deserves Better

Alex S. from Link-Cable writes: "Ubisoft, we need to chat. Please, have a seat. Thanks. Ok, so I think you know why you’re here. No it has nothing to do with all those game delays, we’ll talk about that later. What? No it’s not about the Skulls & Bones and Beyond Good & Evil 2 falling off the face of the Earth, just listen. We need to talk about Splinter Cell. Don’t give me that look, you know this conversation needs to happen. The way you’ve treated the series, its fans and poor Sam Fisher himself is sad, infuriating and just plain disappointing and it needs to stop."

The Fish!!!

I'd love to see a remastered edition of those games as well as something new. It's about time.

UltraNova1481d ago

MGS is done, at least as we know it so it's now or never Ubi, give Fisher the reboot it deserves. And for Gods sake, don't you dare turn Splinter Cell into another Division/Ghost reckon online abomination instead of a SP focused steath action game!

Psychonaut851480d ago

You know they will though. This is Ubisoft we’re talking about

zachyBROosevelt1481d ago (Edited 1481d ago )

I would love a new splinter cell, maybe even a reboot at this point. Sam Fisher deserves it

Profchaos1481d ago

I think reboot the entire franchise the games were great but every time they try to make him human like a father or something it comes of as unbelievable

hiawa231480d ago

They added damn near every SC game to Xbox1X back compat enahnced list. That is a lot of Sam enhanced and I am loving it, but Sam deserves a new next gen game.
