Hitman: Absolution Second Opinion Review | GameCritics

GameCritics write:

"Before we dive in, a bit about me. I'm your target audience—a self-identified hardcore gamer who's loved your Hitman titles from the start. Agent 47 is one of the few gaming characters I really like. Sure, that Timothy Olyphant version in the movie didn't work quite the way I wanted it to, but hey—game movies are usually a disaster. They didn't get Max Payne right, either."

This was the first hitman game I have ever played
No way in hell this is lower than a 8

Mutant-Spud4116d ago (Edited 4116d ago )

5/10 for me, I played through the story once and had no desire to go again or play any of the contracts, the game is all over the place. Hitman is basically a puzzle game, you have to figure out the best way to progress and the way forward is not always obvious, normally you'd expect the challenge to ramp up to a climax but there are some missions which are so frustrating I wanted to quit and others, like the final two which are so ridiculously easy that they insult the intelligence of the player.
The cage fight mission and the scarecrow one took about thirty seconds to figure out but the section on the rooftop in the mist was a shocker, I nearly gave up on that one, The most efficient route is often just to run past the guards, trigger an alert and then hide, I found in some cases that if I tried it enough times I could still get through the levels with an above average score.

Deserved. Absolution was terrible. Eyes on hitman trilogy to play real sandbox hitman game not idiotic linear stealth game

get lost. Hitman absolution was brilliant, Not as good as blood money, But brilliant.

People like you are what is ruining gaming. Destroying perfectly good mechanics for the sake of drawing in more dribbling casuals is the reason this whole gen has had next to no magic.

I enjoyed it when game companies would build on a games strong points to try and entice new gamers to their genre, not chuck in a bunch of cheap tricks like "instinct mode".

Absolution was poor and a step completely in the wrong direction, if you think simplifying a game for morons is improving it you should really just stick to your facebook games and leave my franchises alone.

Im ruining the game.

I fail to see how it was simplified. do you mean the instincts mode that i literally didn't use, ONCE throughout the entire campaign as i played on the highest difficulty from the get go.

You clearly used it and this is what made you dislike the game because it made it too easy.

Don't know why im discussing this with you when your avatar is Hitler.

I haven't played the game and I can tell this review is retarded. Direct quote here from the reviewer. "I'm your target audience—a self-identified hardcore gamer who's loved your Hitman titles from the star"

Erm... WRONG! It is well known that this Hitman game is trying to appeal to a broader audience and get new people in to the franchise. This makes the target audience bigger than just "the hardcore Hitman fans". If you're going to a review a game then review it for what it is.

it was okay game the broken disguise system is unforgivable

Cam9774116d ago (Edited 4116d ago )

And the dependence on the stupid "instinct" mode. In my honest opinion, HM:A was a massive letdown; Blood Money was so much better. At least BM's disguise system worked, it wasn't linear and didn't have the laughable "Instinct" feature.

SnakeCQC4116d ago

well insticts was something you could easily turn off but i also missed the newspaper clipping from blood money

How IO turned Hitman around, from Absolution to World of Assassination

When Hitman 3 recently changed its name to Hitman World of Assassination, fans had no idea how meaningful the moment was. On the outside it looked like a simple thing: Hitman 3 would now be known by this name and include levels from Hitman 2 and 3 - the trilogy would all be in one place. But on the inside, at IO Interactive, much more was going on.

You mean destroyed it with this tethered single-player campaign BS... And only the first few levels of the third modern game were on the disc! I'll never support this crap at any price-point! They've lost me as a customer.

Hitman is, and has been, a remarkable series developed by some of the best. Some are better than others, but every Hitman is challenging and fun.

Sure, there have been some stumbles and fumbles, but always in pursuit of the perfect Hitman game. The most recent trilogy is a masterclass in level design.
