Good, this even was completely retarded and ignored the real issue by punishing people taking part in a completely harmless hobby.

Damn. I was planning on going to get rid of some M rated games i dont play any more. Amazon was only offering like 4 bux per title, these ppl were offering up 25 dollar gift cards to local eateries and what not. Sounded like an awesome deal to me.

Ignorance is a dangerous thing.

Apparently so are console games! It explains the need for rounded edges on Wii U disks - it stops us spazzing out and slashing peoples throats with them or using them as rudimentary Shuriken ;)

perhaps they realized that their offer was way, way better than Amazon/GameStop -- at least the retailers get to re-sell it for a profit. or perhaps they felt that there are better ways of using the $25/game.

the article stated however that they will be "providing gift certificates to families who had 'the violent video games conversation with their children.'" -- now, i'm wondering how that "conversation" goes... "Son, violent games are bad for you (long pause)... Now where's my gift check?!?" -- or what if it turns out that the gift check's for GameStop.
