Miiverse: Two months in and the network's flaws are increasingly apparent

Digitally Downloaded writes "It's been about two months since the Wii U launched. We've had some time to get ingrained in the Miiverse community. How has it stacked up as a social network, or a resource for gamers? Well, not especially well on either count."

I have seen allot of negative comments on Miiverse, I ignore them, and I am also glad we can see if someone has played a game or not. Nintendo was smart in that respect. Also not every game is for every gamer. I have said it before, I really like Zombi U, my friend hates it. That does not make it a bad game. I challenged my friend to play it next weekend, with only short breaks of playing other games. Can't wait till he has to sit down with it for a couple of hours straight. LOL. I am sure Miiverse will be getting some of his comments that are going to be negative, at least at first.

I can imagine if DMC was there in Miiverse. You would have tons of trolls. That's the unfortunate side-affect to communities, you always have your idiots out there who have ulterior motives.

LOL, just like the few on N4G who make it sometimes irritating. Oh well, it takes all kinds. I do like Neko_Megas comment about the inbox.

For mii miiverse is very good and works fine i get good info on games before buying ect it's been a huge success there is a community for every game it's doing what it said twitter with pics.

One thing I'm starting to hate is I have to go to the Miiverse to check my messages, why couldn't their be a inbox or something?

Other then have to go through alot to read a message, I got no problems. Well besides loading screens. But that has nothing to do with Miiverse.

1Upgamer99, ZombiU is pretty good. Only think I hate is sometimes it lets you skip the load screen and sometimes it doesn't. Other then that the game is pretty awesome and I like how if you die an come back to where you died at. Theirs your old character as a zombie wanting to eat your brains XD

What a fail article. Not every opinion is going to be positive and having a negative opinion about the game is not trolling. Also, if you find issues with a post then report it. The function is there for a reason.

1upgamer994114d ago

I think the one point of the article that is important, is some of these people making these comments have not even played the games they are bashing. So if you have not played a game how can you have such STRONG opinions about something you know nothing about. Kind of like Non Wii-U owners saying this and that about the Wii U without having really having spent any real one on one time with it.

"For a start the community, though small (with some games I can come back to the community a day later to find my comment still near the top), is absolutely filled with trolls."

"filled with people with nothing better to do that post about how bad the game is, and make other comments about the game I can only assume are meant to be funny."

"This would be fair enough if the people criticising the game had actually played the game. Most of them haven't."

"In the worst-case scenarios, such as the recent Rise of the Guardians game, the accusations of shovelware were flowing thick and fast... before the game was even released."

Sounds like N4G to me. Or pretty much every other gaming forum in the internet.

Except it isn't. This dude is grossly exaggerating this. Yes, Miiverse has its fair share of trolls, but actually the moderation in there is great. Most of the "trolls" are pretty mild and do it just for innocent fun, they are usually amusing. Try and say a bad word publicly on Miiverse, and Nintendo's admins will delete your comment pretty fast.

In my honest, uncensored opinion... this dude needs to take that giant stick out of his ass.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Online is the New Miiverse

With its new ways of both creating and sharing user-made content, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has become the unexpected successor to Nintendo’s beautiful disaster of a social media experiment Miiverse.

Miiverse was insanity, and it was hilarious. It had a super strange community, there’s a bunch of YouTube videos about it.
I have smash ultimate, but haven’t checked out the new update. I’ll for sure take a look.

Snookies121818d ago (Edited 1818d ago )

I'm interested to check it out as well. Haven't played Smash in a while now... I think it was my issues with having multiple people play at once. The controller drifting and input lag was terrible. Not sure if they fixed that yet, but it was a pain to play when I had 3-4 friends on at the same time.

Gemmol1818d ago

Send your switch in not everyone have that issue, only one that listed that others experience is drifting issue but input lag and playing with 4 people do not have any issues

A Miiverse Eulogy: So Long to the First True Social Video Game Platform

The Miiverse gave myself, and so many others, a platform unlike any console had ever seen before. For once, our reactions to games, both about them generally and in the moment-to-moment, were given life in the games themselves. The Miiverse's concept was novel, fresh, new. It felt like the first true social video game platform. And it's a shame that it was for a console that hardly anyone actually played.
