Not really

This whole confrontation could've been avoided if Kamiya just read the article and if Kotaku have came up with a better title.

The article didn't even bash his knowledge of PC gaming or Valve instead it explain PC gaming and services like Steam performed&used in Japan.

DragonKnight4118d ago

There is never a reason to defend Kraptaku no matter what they say. They are a blight and should be expunged from any aspect of gaming.

madara0sama4118d ago

"Kotaku has no credibility as they are essentially the TMZ of gaming."

Nailed it.

Nate-Dog4118d ago

Or Kotaku could have written an appropriate headline rather than a sensationalist headline trying to attract more heat and readers. Bunch of nobs.

nukeitall4118d ago

@DragonKnight:

I don't understand the hatred for a website. I base my opinion on the story itself, not what the website has done in the past unless it is a unconfirmed rumors alas something unsubstantiated.

TronEOL4117d ago

Wow, the disagrees. And if you look at every reply hating on Kotaku, it honestly sounds like some kind of religious cult.

"Believe and follow what we say, as anyone, regardless of each individuals style on Kotaku is garbage because of association with that website."

Just because Kotaku has some shitty articles doesn't mean the whole website and everyone involved are terrible. As for Hideki Kamiya, THIS guy is ridiculously unprofessional and responded like a pre-teen upset about a comment heard from a person before asking the people themselves (or reading the article).

And so far he's been saying nothing but garbage so I'll be ignoring all his games from now on (not that Bayonetta was any good anyways).

ZombieNinjaPanda4117d ago (Edited 4117d ago )

@Tron

Except the whole website is terrible. When you put out 95% crap and 5% decent stories, you will not be judged on that 5%.

Not to mention we need developers calling out these "journalists" (let's be real here, they're not journalists in any sense of the word) out. Example: Jaffe and Kuchera

pixelsword4117d ago

Kotaku has been putting out bad articles for a long time; they used to be decent a while back but now they're not.

@Zeal0ous- lets see....gaming legend....vs Kotaku. LMFAO! He was right to say what he said. Kotaku are idiots. They don't make news...they troll it.

morganfell4117d ago

@TronEOL,

I would agree with you....except you are wrong. Kotaku has been a blight on all of gaming. It isn't the matter of a few erred articles. That might be overlooked as you suggest.

No, the entire sight has been a farce and not a funny one either. Instead of a few mistakes they have damaged gaming and been on the whole, a disservice to gamers everywhere. Their actions are simply too numerous to list. It isn't an article or two, it's the modus operandi of the entire venture. As bad as Brian Crecente was, and he was horrendous, almost impossibly, matters now have become worse since his departure.

I will get disagree for this but didn't he say it him self?

https://twitter.com/PG_kami...

How can you say "I don't know anything about pc" then get mad when an article say "You don't know about pc" ??

Just saying.

Catoplepas4118d ago (Edited 4118d ago )

He was more annoyed at Kotaku's inference that he speaks for the entirety of Japan.

That, and being called "clueless". Which to be fair, would piss me off a well.

Pozzle4118d ago

Calling him "the guy who made Bayonetta" is a little bit insulting too. He has a bloody name, Kotaku! And he's done more for the gaming industry than just "make Bayonetta"...which is more than can be said for Kotaku.

Though writing "Hideki Kamiya is unfamiliar with PC gaming" might not have gotten them as many hits as the more attention-seeking headline they did use.

nukeitall4118d ago (Edited 4118d ago )

I kind of applaud Hideki for saying I don't know and Kotaku's hit seeking and flame bait of an article a little unnecessary.

However, Kotaku does have a point. Why doesn't a well known Japanese developer know more about PC gaming?

Krimmson4117d ago

@Pozzle
"Why doesn't a well known Japanese developer know more about PC gaming?"
PC Gaming in Japan is a very niche market. It's not like in the West where PC Gaming is big and has a respectable scene. In Japan, the majority of PC games include Visual Novels, Hentai and Korean MMOs.

I hope Kraptaku goes down permanently down one of these days.

They are an abomination and disgrace to video gaming.

Reverent4118d ago

I can't believe they're still around at all, let alone that their sh*tty articles even get accepted here... It's embarrassing, really.

SegataShanshiro4118d ago

You should be protecting the internet instead of posting stuff in a gaming site

miDnIghtEr20C_SfF4117d ago (Edited 4117d ago )

When Kotaku says that the PS4 is the best next gen console.. then Kotaku will matter. Just like IGN.

Just saying. And we all know that's the truth.

Funny to see that Kotaku also is a bigger site by rank than N4G according to alexa.com

Kotaku is ranked 717 in the usa, and in the 1000's world wide,.. while n4g is in the 4000's world wide and like 2000 in the usa. Poor hipster video game fans on this site and their love for N4G.

Yeah if you live in your own little delusional world.
