Famitsu teases huge Capcom project, long-awaited secret title

Famitsu's teasers have generally turned out to be disappointing as of late. This latest one is a real doozy, though.

Dead Rising 3? that one sounds like the quiet type.

TryMe4124d ago (Edited 4124d ago )

Probably, it's been hinted on Capcom's FB page for well over a year now. Plus there's this doozy: http://www.neoseeker.com/ne...

I really hope the "suprise scoop on a long awaited title" part is The Last Guardian (I wouldn't be mad either if it was Versus XIII)..considering there's a interview with that sony dude, I'm really hoping that's a correlation.

I bought my PS3 for The Last Guardian. I've been hyped since 2009..Ico/SOTC are one of my favorite games of all time..and this, this just HAS to come out. I don't care if it's shit, I just want to have that satisfied sensation of actually playing and finishing a video game product i've been waiting for SOOOO damn long. I don't care if it's 2014, just release it when your ready Sony, I'm waiting!!!!

jc485734124d ago (Edited 4124d ago )

yea, it's time those titles got out of their caves. There aren't really many titles I'm very excited about and usually the quiet types are the ones I care about the most. Not because I know they are going to be good, but the whole secrecy behind them just makes me very anxious. They revealed a picture of Dead Rising 3 awhile back and now rumors are beginning to resurface again that announcement is going to happen soon.

I think they've made us wait way too long already because some of us are on our way out to quit gaming or take a long break from it.

@guitarded77

well, I think Capcom Vancouver deserves to release another game before they move on to next gen stuff. Other than that, I really am curious about the progress of Last Guardian and Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

Nevers0ft4124d ago

Yep. I remember seeing a teaser for The Last Guardian years ago and said to myself "If I ever buy a PS3, it'll be for that game" - it was a no-brainer, Ico on the PS2 is one of my favourite games of all time.

Suffice to say though, I still don't own a PS3 :(

guitarded774124d ago

I really hope not... I'd really prefer just about anything else... MegaMan, Dragon's Dogma, anything. Hell, I'd take Dark Void 2 over another Dead Rising (kidding... kinda).

Oh_Yeah4124d ago (Edited 4124d ago )

POWER STONE 3...Please, or a Megaman reboot.

Ranma14124d ago (Edited 4124d ago )

I hope its Breath of Fire 6

campcom did say in 2012 that the "big cheeses" at the company were interested in reviving that franchise

they said a remake and it will probably be for 3DS, iOS or something I don't care about. =/

Godchild10204124d ago (Edited 4124d ago )

"Famitsu promises two big scoops for next week’s issue. The first is some sort of “huge Capcom project”. "

This could be anything, Dragon's Dogma 2, Dead Rising 3 or Mega Man Legends 3.

"The second, slightly less clear, is a long-awaited game that has been kept quiet. Next week, “information on that title becomes clear at last.”

If it's not related to Capcom, I think it will be the Last Guardian or Final Fantasy Versus 13 and if it is related to Capcom, Mega Man Legends 3. All 3 titles are long awaited and have been quiet ever since their reveal.

Myst4124d ago

Dragon's Dogma 2 would make me squeal but I don't think it would fall under the "long awaited" type sadly.

Godchild10204124d ago (Edited 4124d ago )

That's why I put it under the huge Capcom project. There are two announcements/scoops, not one. They did say the game sold well enough to push forward a squeal, so I expect it to come at some point.

TryMe4124d ago

Aren't they already releasing that standalone Expansion this year

Dragon Dogma: Dark Arisen?

Myst4124d ago

@GodChild1020 - Ah gotcha and yeah understandable.

@TryMe - ...Learn something new everyday. Yay!

DevilishSix4124d ago

I really don't think at this late stage that LAst Guardian is launching on PS3. I think it will be a big PS4 title to get early adopters on board with the new system. Please don't hang me it's just the feeling I am getting.

ZeekQuattro4124d ago

Mega Man Legends 3 was canceled in 2011. I can see a different Mega Man game getting released but not MML3.

Evildoomnerd4124d ago

for Ducktales 3, Strider 3, or Megaman ANYTHING. Even a new Dino Crisis would be welcome so we can pretend the abomination released in 2003 never happened.

Mugen Souls Retro Review – Sexy Demon Space Adventure

Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

CrimsonWing692h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker2h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing692h ago(Edited 2h ago)

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos8h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto7h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger887h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
