The AVGN Youtube Account has been Terminated

In an odd turn of events, James Rolfe's (A.K.A The Angry Videogame Nerd) Youtube Account has been found terminated today. All that remains of the page is a looming message from youtube: "This account has been terminated due to repeated or severe violations of our Terms of Service." and an appropriately placed "D:" logo

Everyone that supports these new potential laws for blocking game content from being used in internet videos needs to be prepared for this; the death of fair use and power of corporations to prosecute without court.

Youtube is just "progressive" that way, doing it that way now in fear of being sued.

Me and thousands of other users have already had problems with Sega recently.

In my case I posted a demo playthrough of Ryu Ga Gotoku 5 (known in the west as Yakuza 5).

admiralvic4122d ago

Yup.

While my channel is generally left alone by companies, I got a copyright notice on the "First 20 minutes" of E.X. Troopers and had my WHOLE VIDEOS sound muted for having a May'n song (games opening). Talk about lame!

it should all be returned soon hopefully. The way I see it AVGN has been a HUGE part of internet/video game history, this will not go unnoticed. cinemassacre.com is always there though

Listening to people get annoyed with games is not funny, it's ear bleeding awful. I avoid those types of people just to save myself from getting a headache.

bluefox7552285d ago (Edited 2285d ago )

I think it's hilarious. I love watching people rage at games. What sucks is watching someone play a rage game, and keep their cool.

Babadook72285d ago

AVGN at the top as it should be.

bluefox7552285d ago

Not really a fan of Markiplier, but his rage videos are pretty entertaining. I don't know if he's faking it or not, but if he is, it's pretty convincing.
