JS:The Twitter feed for Distressed Debt Investing has been doing courtroom reporting, noting that the judge has set an auction date of January 22 where THQ assets could be sold individually. It's also been reported that Electronic Arts is now among the bidders. Warner Bros. has also been acknowledged as sniffing around, along with several others.
Alex & Mike talk Biomutant, a game from Experiment 101/THQ Nordiq you likely have not heard of. While the AAA side of the industry tends to homogenization and imitative, cinematic presentation, “AA” games remain creative and innovative in 2021. Drawing on inspirations as varied as Dark Souls, third person shooters & kung fu cinema, Biomutant is Ratchet & Clank on acid, developed by a team of 20 people.
Remember THQ? They published such games as Avatar: The Last Airbender, Darksiders I & II, the Destroy All Humans series, Homefront, the Red Faction series, and Saint's Row 1-3. Almost as famous as their games were the THQ marketing stunts, including a Golden Wii.
PlaySation gamers are in for a treat today! Not only did Sony roll out its “Double Discount” PlayStation Store sale, but there’s also a THQ Humbe Bundle PS4 discount happening too!
Reminds me of a bunch of vultures picking at a corpse. EA better not get any of the big franchises, dont care if they take WWE those games were subpar anyway.
@NYC
Didnt Ubisoft show intrest for some franchises?
EA and Warner be be fighting over these...
WWE
Company of Heroes
Saints Row
Metro-Last Light
who ever picks up Saints Row and Metro better not F them up.
God no, please don't let EA get anything good...
I think we are going to see a lot of bidders if the auction time frame hits without an approved sale. I fully expect all major Publishers including the likes of MS and Sony to dip their toes in the process.
