WC - Very few video games have existed for so long and had such mainstream success as the entire Grand Theft Auto series from Rockstar Games. It has consistently received critical acclaim and done what it has set out to do – be fun, addicting, and controversial.
Since the very first GTA game, parents and organizations have been up-in-arms about Rockstar’s releases. Grand Theft Auto games have been the focal point of criticism and lawsuits for years – and Rockstar loves it. If they didn’t, why would they continuously do it?

Imagine being so rich that another Billion is just not worth the hassle... LoL :) -Sorry just can't relate...
Reminds me of the story of some ultra rich d-bag that had so much wine that he couldn't possibly drink it all so he had to sell like 10 million dollars worth of it. No one has earned that much wealth without exploiting others.
Thats not true.. there are ppl who for example discovered cure are super rich due patent..
A GTA movie will end like a fast and furious.. omg one of the worst movie series ever..
@Roarke The scientist that discoveres the cure doesn't become rich. The patent will belong to Lilly, Pfizer, Merck, or Roche.
The money made is then disseminated amongst the executive board members and administration teams who provide zero value to the company. The scientists will continue to be exploited receiving raises and bonuses that do not beat inflation.
Again exploiting others in order to become rich.

Which is fine, I would much rather all gaming companies just focus on making good games.
I never played any of the top-down GTAs other than Chinatown wars. I do not agree with this guys list. Putting the original up first? So is the original Super Mario Bros. better than Super Mario Bros. 3? It's all about personal preference so I won't go any further to this. Personally my top 3 would be.
1. San Andreas
2. GTA4
3. Vice City

I find it odd that I enjoy Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire, and Bully more than any of the GTA games.
GTA has always had potential, but it always felt limited, in my opinion. Sure, you could do a few fun things...but I wanted something more. I wanted something like Just Cause or Saints Row 3. I don't need the cheesy story, either. I just wanted fun gameplay that doesn't get old quickly. Even games like The Saboteur and Mercenaries (Both inspired by GTA) are more fun for me. They don't limit you quite as much as GTA does. That's why I love them.
