Three Games Square Enix Needs To Release in 2013

To say Square Enix has seen better days in the eyes of its consumers is a severe understatement. Still, Gamers Association editor Jay Curtis believes all missteps shall be forgiven if this iconic company releases these three high-profile titles in 2013.

Exactly, how hard can it be to port a PS2 game in HD. Squeenix will have us waiting years for it along with FFVSXIII and KH3 on top of the many years all ready gone by. I'm even doubting that they exist.
Squeenix just can't make good games anymore.
An when there is an exception (FF type zero) they don't even bother to release it to the west.
Screw Squeenix I'll be playing Ni No Kuni instead.

You make it sound like all you have to do is open up ps2 game in the ps3 game engine and it should be ported. Its harder than u think. The game code has to be almost completely redone to work with the ps3. And lot of the textures have to be redone in hd. Theres also the testing phase to make sure there is not much bugs. And whats funny it hasn't even been close to a year since it was announced. It was announced last September I beleive.

I'm well aware of the process and we have had the entire God Of War series and Metal Gear Solid series updated to HD on time.
An while FFX HD might not of been announced that long ago, where is the info? where are the details? same with any of Squeenix's games, where is ANY amount of info that isn't a damn FFXIII sequel? there isn't any and it's a complete joke. I was 18 years old when Final Fantasy VS XIII was announced....I'm 24 now and I've been waiting for a proper FF since the PS2.
Same for Kingdom Hearts 3 the fans have waited long enough for these games and still there is nothing. You know why? because the company has turned into a complete joke and the only thing that's keeping them from going under are third party developers and a lot of false promises.

I'm just so mad with this company! lol

Maybe yearly next year though. It's been in development for 3 years now so they are probably fine tuning it now. Lightning returns is the final part of lightings saga and she is guiding souls to the new world that will be created when theirs ends. My guess is v13 is tht new world.

3 years? The games has been in development for more than 6 years. Pretty much since the beginning of this entire console generation. The developers keep getting pulled off the project to work on FF XIII, XIII-2, and now Lightning Returns. Square Enix has a HUGE amount of employees, but they always spread themselves way too thin working on a billion projects at the same time. And they prioritize all the wrong ones. They've got some of the worst management in the entire industry.

No it was announced more than 6 years years ago. Development didn't start until 2009 and it went full into production yearly last year with them more than half way done. V13 isn't as hush hush as most raging fanboys believe, if you do the research you will find a lot of info about it. Plot summery, gameplay details, character information.

Your right square does spread themselves out a lot, but its quiet obvious ff 13, 13-2 and lightning returns were all planned out from the start. However there is a lot of info on v13 to know its very much alive. I've barely seen anything on ffx HD since they annunced it and confirmed its a remaster not a remake. That's the game people need to worry about. Kingdom hearts 3 has been said multiple times that it won't be started until after V13

Thank you. Someone with there facts straight. The CG trailer shown 6 years ago was pretty much the only thing they done with the game. And when FF13 was announced it was already kind of in development. It was a ps2 title at first. I don't remember if it was worked on for 2 years already or 1 year after they scraped it and started over to make it on ps3.

Ritsuko. We know loads about it. We know the same amount that we know about GTA5.

Story elements(King assassinated, Noct gains new powers, raiders try to take crystal, the Death god is a big part of it, Nocts kingdom is the most advanced tech wise but not weapon wise)

characters(and their attitudes)

gameplay(world map, vehicles, airships, chocobos, a mobile phone/camera, exploration/caves/summons). Combat(Kh sword combat, with controllable summons, multiple usable characters on the fly,customizable weapons, Third person shooter elements, combat vehicles like tanks)

This trailer is 2 years old and was outdated by 3 months when it was released.

As for versus next gen, don't be stupid. There's no way S-E is gonna ditch what they've been working on considering it is almost finished.

don't joke about that I think it's true! Maybe not for launch because of the small fanbase but I can see it being released on PS4 and even going multiplat since by then every console will have high-capacity discs just like the PS3.

i think square will get a lot of backlash cause of it because people bought a PS3 for both versus 13 and kingdom hearts 3 and also sony did say they are supporting the PS3 until 2015 and just like the PS2 we will most likely still some great games maybe even ones that are better then the PS4 launch titles

I could see Versus as a winter 2013 release. There's no reason to push it to next gen Ps3 is being supported til 2015. Switching dveleopment for a PS3 title to a PS4 game dosent make sense.

KH1.5 remix I hope comes to America. Hopefully a summer release.

Its more that SE shouldn't have announced things that weren't near completion FFX HD, VersusXIII. Not only that they flopped FFXIV and had to build it from the ground up to make it worth something which is also taking up resources.

Versus with Luminous engine for next gen, FFXHD for the Vita and KH3 for next gen launch as well. And yet, Square probably won't make none of these.

FFXHD and Versus XIII should have definitely been out last year. FFXHD is just a port, what's the hold up with it? I'll tell you. It's the same as the hold up for Versus. Versus was announced 6 years ago, it started FULL development 3 years ago (but still had some development done in between) but what's holding them up is FFXIV (Wada has a personal interest in this game) and the FFXIII trilogy. SE even said that themselves and when I find the link I'll post it in an edit.

I never believe an article unless it specificaly came from square-enix. They pulled some of there team but I highly dought they pulled every single one out from vs13.

2013 not looks very good for SE and i learnt my lesson for not giving too much hope for SE.

1) FF Type 0
I loved this game and it got great gameplay, story, and music. But one year already pass and SE don't bother anymore for an english localization...even though some die hard SE fans convince me that every FF always had an english version. And here in 2013 we're still don't see any solid plan from SE to bring this game to the west.

2) FF versus
Well...6 - 7 years in the production (some people believed it just only got 2 - 3 years full production) and yet again, we're still don't hear / see any solid release date for versus. Right now, i believed versus doesn't exist anymore or just a vaporware.

3) FF X HD
Lol, seriuosly SE, it's only an HD remake and one year already pass without any release date.

4) Bravely Default
This is one of the reason why i'm bought 3DS. But...once again, there's no info about english localization for this game. And maybe it will join FF Type 0 who never see the light of localization...

So far, SE only hyping their new engine, lightning returns, FF XIV, DQ X, KH HD, Tomb Raider, and tons of social game. No new Parasite Eve, Front Mission, Mana, Tactics Ogre, or Chrono. And for me, this year their practically DEAD. Except...they release that 4 game i listed.

If there is still a FFvsXIII it won't release till late 2014 in the USA,there's probably no FFX-hd,but all of suddens there is a KH-1.5hd & no USA version of FF type-0,who's ever running Square business tactics needs to be replaced!
