edit: Ignore this comment, the writer of this article has integrity.

Bubble to you, sir, although I would have put 'explains' and removed the 'to'. :)

''I don't really like the violence in this game. It just seem tasteless. I just wish they went with the "uncharted" type of violence. There is no gory violence in the uncharted series and that what make that series shine. I just wish Naughty Dog didn't go this childish route. Im still hype for this game but i just don't like the violent part of the game. I just hope there an option to disable this.

Double_Oh_Snap4123d ago (Edited 4123d ago )

I know you like to go against everyone, but you have got to be kidding right? I will not even try to explain to you why it's violent. You have shown enough ignorance by not even reading the article.

My gift to you. http://i.minus.com/ijlpAErx...
Sincerely everyone.

Redrum0594123d ago

Civilization is collapsing, there's lawlessness and plagues out taking over entire cities. It's sapposed to be violent and gritty.

Ezz20134123d ago

i love that gif
feel so real

Bumpmapping4123d ago

Lol "Childish route" wtf are you talking about this isn't Uncharted the whole point of the game is violence they have to survive and fend for them selfs.

NeXXXuS4123d ago

-Mika-, just give it a rest already. LOL

LOGICWINS4123d ago

"Im still hype for this game but i just don't like the violent part of the game. I just hope there an option to disable this."

My friend knows a guy whose cousin's brother knows a chick that works at ND. The "Grandma" mode for The Last of Us will replace blood with milk and drown out cussing with the sound of a squealing panda.

TekoIie4123d ago

"Im still hype for this game but i just don't like the violent part of the game. I just hope there an option to disable this."

.... Im not even going to bother trying to figure out how you came to think that this would EVER be a possibility...

Just no. Even for you there has to be a typo there. There just has to be. You cant have seriously thought they would remove a good portion of the gameplay because its violent -_-

Enemy4123d ago

I think she meant a blood and gore option, which still won't happen.

TekoIie4123d ago (Edited 4123d ago )

@Enemy

I get that... But at the same time this games target audience is not one that needs this option. If your stomach cant take some blood and gore then you are not part of that audience...

There are exceptions to what I said. But broadly speaking that's how it should work.

Blastoise4123d ago

What are you talking about you're snapping peoples necks in Uncharted all the time lol. Pulling them off ledges to their doom and shooting them in the face with whatever the heck you can find. Just because Uncharted isn't particularly bloody doesn't mean it's not violent.
Besides its a game about survival it's got to have violence at some point if they want a fairly believable story.

360ICE4123d ago (Edited 4123d ago )

The absence of gore is not what makes Uncharted shine. It does, however, suit the narrative and the style of the game. The same goes for The Last of Us and having violence.

I'm hyped for the next NBA game, but I really wish they would leave out the basketball. Or at least give us an option to disable it...
Not entirely comparable, but you get the point.

wenaldy4123d ago

You just went full retard.

DigitalRaptor4123d ago (Edited 4123d ago )

Unbelievable comment.

Survival action-adventure and expecting flamboyant violence like in Uncharted? Good logic Mika. The material this game is based off and the genre it is placed in screams for the vibe an violence that we've seen so far. There's nothing childish about its implementation. It suits the tension, grounds the characters and is realistic more than anything else.

The developers have stated that the beauty in The Last of Us is the contrast between the violence (which is grounded and necessary) and silence (adventure sequences, in-game narrative excursions, cutscenes).

We also have known for a long time that you can approach the game pacifistically to a large extent. Sneak past enemies, as a less brave survivor would or smash their lights out as a seasoned survivor. Whether it's tasteless violence is dependent on your viewpoint and approach and what you would do if you were Joel in The Last of Us.

GribbleGrunger4123d ago (Edited 4123d ago )

Dear oh dear, Mika, you really do struggle to hide your bias. It's funny because I just mentioned in another thread how the violence would be used to put this game down. I edited it though because the author of the piece kindly changed the headline to something more grown up.

'My friend knows a guy whose cousin's brother knows a chick that works at ND. The "Grandma" mode for The Last of Us will replace blood with milk and drown out cussing with the sound of a squealing panda.'

LOL. Excellent work there, Logic.

claterz4123d ago (Edited 4123d ago )

Well the difference between the violence in the last of us is it looks like it will have an emotional impact on the player when they kill someone.

Even watching the E3 demo made me feel a bit uncomfortable at the end when the guy pleads for his life only to be shot in the face by Joel. On top of that Elle was cowering in the corner of the room watching it happen which made it have even more of an impact IMO. The game wouldn't work without violence anyway as it wouldn't be believable. The aim of the game is to survive and protect Elle and therefore you will have to kill people before they kill you for supplies etc.

" I just hope there an option to disable this."
lol

Irishguy954123d ago

Believe it or not, alot of games have the option to turn Gore and blood off. Even Resident Evil had the option to turn blood green instead of Red

A helpless man that would probably rape Ellie/kill Joel if given the chance to see them again. The shotgun blast was justified.

NastyLeftHook04123d ago

people on this sight will never change anything about anything game related ever. naughty dog has millions of fans and this site is like 1/100th of a percent.

I'm sorry but Mika's comment killed me :D

The Last Of Us Series Has Remarkable Potential For Spin-Offs

Najam from eXputer writes "It's time fore a new installment in the series, not another pointless remaster."

anast76d ago

They are working on something new. Not to be rude but it is impossibility stupid to think ND next major announcement is going to be a remaster or their next Last of Us entry is going to be another remaster.

AlterRecs73d ago

I think this is in response to them releasing a remaster for the sequel, a game that didn't need a remaster.

Basically a "why did you put out a remaster no one asked for when you have all there options available"

anast73d ago

They remaster is to put out something quick while they are deving new stuff. I don't get how people can be so static.

AlterRecs72d ago

There's no news about a third game being in production, you're just assuming that they're working on something that they aren't

anast72d ago

When they release the news to start the hype-train, you can give me my props then.

DrDoomer76d ago

I want an alternate timeline spin-off, where part 2 never happened.

CrimsonWing6976d ago

They’ve already done Remasters of 1 and 2… what else is there to Remaster?

AlterRecs73d ago

Considering they remastered the first game twice, who knows lol

CrimsonWing6973d ago

That was a Remake. I guess they could do that to 2, but man…. They should wait a couple generations so it can look like a major upgrade.

The Last Of Us Online Devs Celebrate Their Experience With The Canceled Game

The team is sad for losing out on such a great project but celebrates its growth because of spending time on it.

Chocoburger121d ago

All they had to do was make a basic online mode like their previous games. Instead they wanted more money and choose to go live service which makes games worse in my opinion.

What a waste of time and money, what a shame.

seanpitt2376d ago

I can't wait for season 2 so they can kill Joel off in the first 2 episodes!! Then it will be just Abby and Ellies revenge plot!

Something is telling me that this won't happen though because it wouldn't make sense, oh wait

Linzoid121d ago

Not sure why they didn’t just make Factions 2. There was no need to make it a live service.

TLoU Factions was a great addition such a shame they couldn’t be bothered to remaster that for PS5 considering the crazy high price tag of the remaster of a remaster…

anast120d ago

This is something to be celebrated. This studio is smart and they get it, even factions 2 wouldn't've have been worth the time. I am surprised they didn't just remaster the first one though, but actually how popular was Factions?
