Most Anticipated List of Most Anticipated Games of 2013

Walker4130d ago (Edited 4130d ago )

I think Byeond: Two Souls would be disappointing . at david cage`s games, gameplay is so pointless and the story has too many great plot holes . just like heavy rain ...

mt4130d ago

when I play the game i'll tell you if it is disappointing or not. but I know it won't be because I played heavy rain and it is my first time to play a game with that type of gameplay and I loved everything in heavy rain.

I disagree. Beyond is an original concept for a game not only in story but in gameplay too. Whether or not you find the gameplay satisfying is your call, and yet to be found out by most of us, but I find this sort of gameplay thrilling in the way in which it keeps you tense in tense moments and even mundane tasks or slower paced plot pieces are pushed at you in an interesting way. It's what adventure games are about.

Plus, it's one thing to say that the gameplay is pointless, but then you get games like Call of Duty where it's all shooting and completely one-dimensional. Fun to some, but stale to me. Quantic Dream's approach is like a breath of fresh air in a sea of shooters trying to be the next best rather than forging their own identity. It's this sort of game that covers a wider gamut and keeps me interested from one moment to the next.
And the plot holes that existed in Heavy Rain were unfortunate, but with writing comes experience, and I'm sure that Cage's writing will have much improved for Beyond, at least one can hope.

From the article & profoundly put, might I add:

Sheldon Pacotti was the principle writer for the original Deus Ex series, and creator of Cell: Emergence
"I'm a hopeless Quantic Dream fanboy, so I'm most looking forward to Beyond. I appreciate the courage with which the studio has tried new game mechanics for helping players inhabit a story, as well as their focus on character-based storytelling. What cripples most games as storytelling vehicles is that they are one-scene movies: all gunfight or all car chase. I think it's wonderful that games like Fahrenhiet and Heavy Rain let players do a multitude of normal human tasks, like lifting weights or searching for change in your pocket.

"If games are going to move players the way movies do, they will need to be able to hit a variety of emotional registers within a single experience. Regarding Beyond, I'm particularly interested in seeing a power curve tied directly to the player-character's emotional state. Isn't that the way it is in the movies? The hero finally delivers the decisive blow when he - and the audience - are at their angriest or most terrified."

You played the game? How do you know it has "too many plot holes"? This game is based on two characters, not four, like Heavy rain.

I know this is your opinion and I'm not saying you can't have one, but when you go and say you "think" and then continue with "the story has too main plot holes just like Heavy rain," before playing it, can be a little redundant(I don't know if I'm using the right word, brain fart). Maybe you should have worded it differently; maybe you meant to say, you think it will have pointless gameplay and have too many plot holes like Heavy Rain?

Then again, I guess if his previous games were one way, you can expect his next game to be the same way, right?

I enjoyed Heavy Rain, even with its plot holes. I played it and got all the endings and played the Taxidermist episode for Madison Paige. I really wish Sony would have let him continue with the DLC, but playing with the move is not that bad.

I can't wait for his next game/movie, whatever you want to call it. It's one of my most anticipated Sony executives.

Heavy Rain is one of the best games of this generation. I don't think you'll have anything to worry about with Beyond: Two Souls

Seems like the list of games ill avoid.

HarryMasonHerpderp4130d ago

Really?
Aside from saving some money, you're going to be missing out big time.

Ezz20134129d ago

no one cares if you avoid it or not

My wish for this game,

Is that it helps elevate Video Games to a viable medium in which, complex Emotional Content can be explored.

I hope that it finally gets representation in ALL of the genres that Books and Films have. Not just Action, Fantasy, and Sci-Fi but Interactive-Documentaries, History, Love-stories, Tutorials... ect.

The Last Of Us Series Has Remarkable Potential For Spin-Offs

Najam from eXputer writes "It's time fore a new installment in the series, not another pointless remaster."

anast82d ago

They are working on something new. Not to be rude but it is impossibility stupid to think ND next major announcement is going to be a remaster or their next Last of Us entry is going to be another remaster.

AlterRecs79d ago

I think this is in response to them releasing a remaster for the sequel, a game that didn't need a remaster.

Basically a "why did you put out a remaster no one asked for when you have all there options available"

anast79d ago

They remaster is to put out something quick while they are deving new stuff. I don't get how people can be so static.

AlterRecs77d ago

There's no news about a third game being in production, you're just assuming that they're working on something that they aren't

anast77d ago

When they release the news to start the hype-train, you can give me my props then.

DrDoomer82d ago

I want an alternate timeline spin-off, where part 2 never happened.

CrimsonWing6981d ago

They’ve already done Remasters of 1 and 2… what else is there to Remaster?

AlterRecs79d ago

Considering they remastered the first game twice, who knows lol

CrimsonWing6979d ago

That was a Remake. I guess they could do that to 2, but man…. They should wait a couple generations so it can look like a major upgrade.

The Last Of Us Online Devs Celebrate Their Experience With The Canceled Game

The team is sad for losing out on such a great project but celebrates its growth because of spending time on it.

Chocoburger126d ago

All they had to do was make a basic online mode like their previous games. Instead they wanted more money and choose to go live service which makes games worse in my opinion.

What a waste of time and money, what a shame.

seanpitt2382d ago

I can't wait for season 2 so they can kill Joel off in the first 2 episodes!! Then it will be just Abby and Ellies revenge plot!

Something is telling me that this won't happen though because it wouldn't make sense, oh wait

Linzoid126d ago

Not sure why they didn’t just make Factions 2. There was no need to make it a live service.

TLoU Factions was a great addition such a shame they couldn’t be bothered to remaster that for PS5 considering the crazy high price tag of the remaster of a remaster…

anast125d ago

This is something to be celebrated. This studio is smart and they get it, even factions 2 wouldn't've have been worth the time. I am surprised they didn't just remaster the first one though, but actually how popular was Factions?
