Consoles VS PC: My Mock Interview with Sony & Microsoft

Soon after deciding to pass on next-gen consoles in favor of a gaming PC, Gamers Association editor Luke Frazier was quickly confronted by Sony and Microsoft as they attempted to change his mind. The following is a transcription of that discussion.

[Or maybe it's a silly article explaining his reasoning for choosing a PC. Either one.]

Good interview, even if it was a mock-up of one. I'm also supporting the PC more and more.

I dunno what to think of when re-reading this article as I always say consoles and PC Gaming are two different worlds.

People play consoles cause they enjoy the console experience and it's games.

I play on the PC cause I enjoy PC Games and a custom fit gaming experience like having Peripheral View in FPS and Racing games!

play on what you want and what's within your budget!

Happy Gaming!

I'm not much of a PC gamer, but lately been thinking about going back for the full graphical experience.

However, I just enjoy the turn on and play on the big screen experience. Sure I can do it on the big screen, but even turning my PC on to play a movie seems like a hassle.

SSD bro... SSD

my pc cold boots in 10-15 seconds and warm wakes in 1.

and i mean really awake. like already browsed to n4g cause i could start clicking immediately and ie opened instantly and n4g loaded instantly.

if you want proof i will put up a video just for you.

woops i underestimated

so its 15 seconds to boot and im on n4g.com by 32 seconds. cause i have to login and n4g is not my homepage.

just timed it with my cellphone. :)

thats the honest truth.

if you had a raid 0 setup with ssd you could probably cut that in half. :)

@Autodidactdystopia:

I do use SSD, and even with Vista the computers feel snappy. However, once you pop in Windows 8, the difference starts to feel negligable.

The turning on the PC part is a hassle is more to do with interface (and a sprinkle of boot time, etc). Using a mouse/keyboard to navigate the computer and so on. I tried to buy different types of keyboard/mouse combos to mitigate that, but still, not as nice as starting the Xbox 360 with the remote controller and then sprinkle in a little Kinect Voice recognition every now and then.

Steam big picture mode though definitely helps and I hope Valve makes a PC box. I might just buy that if it runs Window 8. I want the faster and snappier OS while also still able to play blizzard games!

Dude your PC just SUCKS Bro! Don't blame PC Gaming cause your PC is Lame.

I'm not being rude but the moment you said " even turning my PC on to play a movie seems like a hassle" lets me know your either Technologically Challenged or your PC is Lame!

I can Skype, download/upload, encode video, browse the internet, watch a movie, and play a game all at the same time!

Sure I'm an advance PC user with a kick butt PC but I still can't understand someone having a hard time turning on a PC and double clicking a movie to play.....easier than wiping off a dvd and getting it to play!

if you PREFER Consoles then just say it but don't make up crap to in an attempt to make PC Gaming seem difficult when it really isn't!

that's like me saying "OMG i hate walking into the Living room and spending 5 minutes looking for the remote before i can turn on the tv and set it to Aux input to play my console"!

nukeitall4131d ago

@ATi_Elite:

Did you even read what I wrote?

The PC shortcomings I mentioned has almost nothing to do with the hardware and almost everything to do with the software.

"if you PREFER Consoles then just say it but don't make up crap to in an attempt to make PC Gaming seem difficult when it really isn't!"

It is more of an inconvenience that I rather not have when there is an easier option, even if it cost more sometimes.

‘Stellar Blade, but good’ is here, and it came out seven months ago

Stellar Blade might be the hot game right now, but we already got a better version of it more than half a year ago.

Stellar blade is currently higher than lies of p on metacritic with 40 more reviews. No shade on Lies of P but just pointing that out.

But i don't even know why compare them? Because both are souls type games?

Then you can just reuse this article all the time and say Elden Ring is "whatever new souls game" but good for every new souls game.

Stellar blade hate articles must be rolling with clicks...

CrimsonWing6930m ago

I mean… it’s like saying we have a better NieR with Devil May Cry. Yea, there’s some similarities, but Lies is really hardcore in the sense of emulating a FromSoft game almost perfectly, where Stellar has some Souls-like elements, but I’d say it’s closer to Sekiro than say a Dark Souls game. This almost feels click-baitey

Psychonaut8525m ago

What if, and hear me out, they’re both really good? Mind blowing, I know.

Christopher17m ago

Listen here you, that's not how this is supposed to work. You choose a side and you defend it. None of this little "what if there's more than one good game out there" nonsense.

Crows9018m ago(Edited 16m ago)

Oh geez...this is why journos suck...they can't even see differences between games.

Stellar blade is nothing like lies of P. Didn't these guys give stellar a bad score? Geez they really hate it. Stop the hate! Lol
