Three Games The Single Players Should Look Out For In January

OnlySP writes:

"Hark! A new dawn rises moving us closer to January and with it 2013. The year is shaping up to be an absolute blockbuster with a promising new game coming out almost every week of the first three months, plenty lined up to provide satisfaction later in the year and the widespread expectation of the earnest beginning of the next generation with Ouya, the Steambox and the next consoles from Sony and Microsoft all being released. It’s an exciting time to be a gamer indeed, but it’s always best to keep a reign on how much you’re looking forward to at any given time. With that in mind, we’re focussing on the first month of the year and listing for you the three biggest single player games for your consideration."

I cannot wait for ni no kuni. I think its that game i have been waiting for since dragons dogma. i loved the demo

dorron4128d ago

I've been waiting for a game like Ni No Kuni since Dragon Quest VIII...

Godchild10204128d ago

I really hope to see a remake or an HD version of DQVIII. I can't wait for NI NI Kuni, 2013 is starting off with a bang.

I've been waiting for a proper epic awesome JRPG since Final Fantasy IX.
Cannot wait for this game!

jrbeerman114127d ago

Theres been quite a few since 9 (although 9 is one of my favorites)

Try Persona 3 and 4 for instance, Dragon Quest 8 was mentioned before... (ff10 and 12 were good too)

Tales of Vesperia wasn't bad either...

HarryMasonHerpderp4127d ago (Edited 4127d ago )

Yeah I love FFX and XII. I also love the Persona games and there have been awesome JRPGs, I just mean a proper Fantasy one without all of the futuristic stuff and a more medieval vibe to it.

Whitefeather4128d ago

I'll be getting both except DmC, that game looks like it'll give my PS3 herpes.

HarryMasonHerpderp4128d ago

Awww I pictured your avatar saying that! lol

Hitman HD Collection - No brainer, def buy

Ni No Kuni - I've avoided as much of this games gameplay, screenshots etc as I physically can. It's Level 5 I love every RPG they've made (except WKC) so day one :)

DMC - I'll wait and see

VsAssassin4128d ago

WKC could've sported quality had they stuck to a single player experience. But alas, they had to venture into the online world and somehow degraded WKC a bit of quality.

I enjoyed WKC though, take note. However, it wasn't good enough to seal my purchase of WKC 2.

Here's hoping that Level-5 creates a JRPG that sports online but with the level of quality that can be seen in games like Demon's Souls.

stuntman_mike4127d ago

I have been pulling my hair out waiting all this time for Ni No Kuni!

I bought WKC 2 just so I could play the first game. I was disappointed with all the on-line stuff and never plan to touch any of that, as a single player game it's not up to level 5 usual standard but it's ok.

Summons754127d ago

I love WKC. The first game was great and ended really well but the second game could never pull me into the story like the first one did. The online was perfectly fine but the online community was so dedicated to it that unless you dedicated your time to it like an MMO then you were always behind, so I just used the online to do the crafting and speed leveling since it carried over to the single player.

Level 5 is a quality developer and a story by Studio Ghibli this was an instant buy for me. The demo was highly impressive so I can't wait.

Murad4127d ago

I would wait on the HD collection. We actually do not know if it's going to be true HD, or the HD that was seen in Silent Hill.

5 Years Later, Devil May Cry 5 Still Quenches My Hack-And-Slash Thirst Like No Other

Where the Heck is Ni No Kuni 3, Mun?

Matt from We Game Daily writes: "Cross Worlds isn’t going away. It’s making a small fortune, particularly in Asian markets, so there’s no reason for Level-5 to pull the plug. That said, there’s no real reason why a full PC/console sequel can’t be developed alongside efforts to support Cross Worlds."

While Ni no Kuni 3 would be cool, if it was like the first game, where is Dark Cloud 3 and Rogue Galaxy 2?

phoenixwing94d ago

I thought the dev recently went mobile and Japan only. They shut down their American offices. So don't expect anything for consoles

shinoff218394d ago (Edited 94d ago )

I swear they just announced a few new games.

phoenixwing94d ago

I stand corrected then. Never heard about these games and also i just remember ni no kuni online being mobile only.

Michiel198993d ago

they said a loooooong time ago that Level 5 was working on a new installment but there has been no news since afaik. I just hope that they take more inspiration from 1 than 2, especially when it comes to the story.

thorstein93d ago

Ni No Kuni Cross Worlds is the mobile game you're thinking of.

It looks amazing but I don't like to play mobile games.

Yeah the sequel was okay but had nothing on the first game, especially the battle system.

The story just didn't have that charm and even the twist at the end of the game wasn't really anything cool like Wrath of the White Witch.

Also the fact there was like ZERO mention of Oliver or his adventures in the game, no references, nothing was such weird. It's set a hundred or so years after but still, I'd have expected to seen some throw backs. I think we just got like a temple with his statue in it or something.

goldwyncq93d ago

If you want more Oliver, just watch the movie.

shinoff218394d ago

Fking word. I've been hoping for this for quite some time.

melons93d ago

The premium games didn't sell amazingly, right?

shinoff218393d ago

Not to sure. They should of though. They were pretty good. I like both.

Michiel198993d ago

yeah, especially outside of japan. They should have released on pc at the same time as the ps3 version or a short time after.

Inverno93d ago

They should've worked with Ghibli to put out a proper movie. Should've also made a Pokemon-esque spin-off rather than make Yokai Watch. If they do make a third game they gotta work with Ghibli!
