10 Videogame Franchises That Could Do With A Reboot

"Sadly, in this world, all things must come to an end. Whether its your shift at work finally climaxing towards your inevitable freedom, or a truly life-changing cup of tea being slowly sipped away, all things must pass. The same can be said of certain game franchises to an extent, with the things we love about the first game in a series quickly losing their lustre three or four games down the line. Plenty of popular game series are getting to this point where things are just getting a bit stale."

why does every game need its own page instead of just making the list on a single page? its really annoying, i didnt even bother reading it after i noticed that.

Yep. That's where I stopped too.
It's a cheap way of getting more clicks.

Looking at the list, I couldn't help but find that the list is all of game franchises that switched up things, and the site is being elitist about the franchises. They are all either "they changed it too much" or "they didn't change enough" or "they need to change it back". There's no real talk about control schemes or gameplay issues or anything like that.

Look at Mario, for example. They admit that the Galaxy games did well, but they don't think that matters as they seem to want Mario to be a 2D platform and never think of a 3D environment again. Why when you admitted that Galaxy was a good game?

Sounds like an excuse to be elitists and to get hits.

Not defending Ubi. It's a crappy thing to do. But it's only one Hutt mission. There are other Hutt missions.

It's A Crime That There's No Sleeping Dogs 2 Yet

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."

LG_Fox_Brazil20h ago

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai14h ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

CrimsonWing691h ago

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion
