Atelier Meruru Plus for the PlayStation Vita is supposedly coming March 20, 2013 [Rumour Mill]

Atelier Meruru Plus may be coming to the PlayStation Vita next year, to be released on 20 March 2013, if these two product pre-order listings on Japanese online shopping portal 7NetShopping (owned by Seven & i holdings, previously known as Seven-Eleven Japan) are to be believed.

Games are released on Thursdays in Japan, not Wednesdays.

knifefight you should read this:
http://sgcafe.com/2012/12/p...

It will explain why an entire bunch of games are coming out in Japan on March 20.

One Piece Kaizoku Musou 2
Dead or Alive 5 Plus
Disgaea D2
And a bunch others.

No, I won't be clicking a rumor website that's posting stuff based on retailer placecholders, haha. Just post the reason here.

Very well.

Put simply, March 20 is a public holiday in Japan and it would seem that most publishers have decided to get their wares out there on a Wednesday instead, for that week.

knifefight I think you might be pleased to hear that we've secured proof that this rumour is indeed real.

In the first place if we thought there may not be truth in it, we wouldn't have run it. I'm sorry if you consider us a shoddy messenger for news and rumours.

Interesting! I wouldn't put it past NIS.

Actually, NIS has nothing to do with the Atelier series in Japan.

Gust develops and publishes the games in Japan.

NIS *America* translates them into English and distributes them internationally.

10 Franchises That Flourished on Vita

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "the handheld was unable to attract certain types of software – western AAA development quickly evaporated, as did Sony’s own support, because there weren’t enough consoles out there for such titles to be profitable. But that doesn’t mean that every publisher failed to find success. Indeed, there are a number of franchises out there that have been able to appeal to the Vita’s niche and which have seen positive sales numbers and critical reception, leading to them becoming mainstays on the handheld.

It’s these series that I intend to examine in more depth this article – what they are, what entries we’ve seen, what success they’ve had, and what it’s meant for the console’s future. I’ll be using known sales figures where possible to back things up, hopefully demonstrating that the Vita has been a solid home for a number of great series despite its otherwise weak commercial performance on the market."

Get intimate with Atelier

Michibiku's Jenni Lada writes, "JRPGs become more predictable as they age. The mechanics are still sound, the stories still good, and the general concept still appreciated in a world where open-world everything is becoming the norm. Think of it as perpetual familiarity. We now what’s going to happen. Gust’s Atelier chronicles can fall within the bounds of predictable, but the series’ focus on individuals sets it apart."
