Max Payne 3 Review | Gamers Association

Jay Curtis writes: "I want to love Max Payne 3. I really do, yet it’s just not possible. The game is crippled by flaws so serious that even a great protagonist can’t save this game from its mistakes. Max Payne 3 could have been one of the year’s most memorable experiences, but it ends up being nothing more than a rare misstep by Rockstar."

A little late for a review isn't it?

1.Why is this review so irrelivantly late?
2.Why do these reviewers/nutsacks have such bad taste?

Twignberries quick caption review of "Gamers Association":

PIECE OF SHIT/10

"Why do these reviewers/nutsacks have such bad taste? "

I totally agree with the De ja vu point. No gameplay progression whatsoever. Bullet time dodge/slow-fall down-slow get up-spam keys a bit more to get up faster-still not getting up-shoot shoot shoot-bullet time dodge-oh snap cant get up again-shoot shoot -spam keys to get up meantime- repeat till credits.

Still the shootouts were fun, besides the tiny frustrating elements.

The major downer for me was the short fights, long cutscenes-spacebar-spacebar-oh wait cant skip-long cutscene-short fight-another long cutscene-read a book-come back-short fight.

Story was a bit generic. Dialogue was better than the plot thankfully. I would never discuss MP3 story with friends or well mention it anywhere actually even though it was such a story heavy game I mean come on with all the cutscenes it definitely focused very very heavily on the story yet I dont remember or care to remember most of it. I only remember some cool bits.

Everything else about the game, brilliant.

I would not go as far as 2/5 to me its around 3.5/5

I bought the game new and just like you and like the review. I regretted that I bought the game new. it is not that bad, but toward the end the repetitive gameplay, the boring story gets really into the way to finish this game, I had to do though, and the online is horrible

Twignberries4139d ago

@Pandehz I hate to say it, but you raise some good points, at the same time you've overlooked quite a few positives such as the cinematic quality and overall fluidity of the gameplay, amazingly gritty, visceral atmosphere, wicked sound design, awesome visuals, and lets not forget the second to none hit detection/reaction physics.

Just on these things and the engine alone, I'd personally give it at least 4/5 to 4.5/5

I got 80% trophy completion on Ragnarok but left a few of the battles. Will come back to it one day.

Dragon Quest 11 is my top pick

RpgSama296d ago

Dragon Quest XI was such an AMAZING game, I had a blast from the very beginning all the way to the very end, it actually got better the more you played, full of surprises as well.

Another game that I enjoyed from the very beginning all the way to the end of the 100% completion was Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Really, really, really fun game with a great heartfelt story.

Where is Horizon Zero Dawn?? where is Ghost of Tsushima?? I just got my Platinum on HZD and is now trying to finish the Frozen Wild expansion. so much care and love went into that game and it really shows. I especially adore the lore and have sunk many hours listening to the logs and reading journals. the back story is great and the gameplay is awesome. can't wait to replay on the hardest difficulty on NG+. next in my list would be to finish GoTsushima

Tacoboto297d ago

Ghost was fantastic especially after Iki Island and the PS5 upgrade. 100%'d that, Horizon Forbidden West (not ZD), GoW (not yet Ragnarok), Spider-Man, and R&C: Rift Apart.

Each one absolutely worth it.

Aloymetal297d ago (Edited 297d ago )

100% I would like to add to you list RDR2, amazing as well and the perks from getting the Legend Of The East outfit is awesome.
Sekiro as well, have to play twice to get it but it's worth it!

Demetrius297d ago

I agree I'm on my 2nd playthroughs of both horizon forbidden West(zero dawn I played also) ghost of Tsushima except I'm replaying it on PS5 this time, the iki island expansion is amazing

ClayRules2012297d ago

Yeah, GoT was already an AMAZING game on PS4, but playing it on PS5, along with that expansion, just even better.

Elda297d ago

I just started my copy of GOW:R, enjoying it so far.

DefenderOfDoom2296d ago (Edited 296d ago )

Okay the title of article should be top 10 , 3rd person games to complete 100 percent. Nine 3rd person games and 1 racing game on this list .
