With or without you

Capcom's reluctance in bringing Monster Hunter to the Vita has given an opportunity to a lot of other developers to fill the hunting game void.

Nice article....

Thank god I am not a huge MH fan. Worst case scenario for me (being a Vita owner) is an exclusive Metal Gear 3ds though.

bicfitness4133d ago

100% Agree. I love these new hunting games that actually have a story and some thought put into their world other than item acquisition and mini-games. I played about 20m of MH once and it just never grabbed me.

RO was good. SS and GE2 should be extraordinary.

jujubee884132d ago

It really hurts my internal organs that MH is not on the VITA.

There are literally hundreds of hours I spent on the PSP plaing ONLY MH...

I am shadow of my former self thanks to MH not being on VITA. :(

ThanatosDMC4132d ago

Same here. 300+ hrs for each psp game except MH3rd.

rezzah4132d ago

lol I agree, I actually spent over 1000 hours on MHF1. Then 700+ for MHF2.

@rezzah

It's always sobering when you begin to talk about any activity in terms of months.

SilentNegotiator4132d ago

Meh, Monster Hunter is too repetitive and isn't the most balanced of games.

I, for one, welcome our impending overlords. I mean Monster Hunter alternatives.

Stay..stay strong.

Capcom already screwed us over without having to bring a MH title to the Vita. MH Tri on the Wii was being made exclusivly for the PS3, then they change their mind and switch it over to the Wii.

Back in 2004 the first MH was released and it grew from there. Then came the PSP releases (this is all NA only). All of MH built primarily (PC exclusive later released in Japan) on Sony platforms. I don't mind the games being on multiple systems/handhelds, but Capcom completely excludes the brand that helped the series grow.

brickcap4133d ago

Thank you guys.Well I am a big fan of Monster hunter but these new games they look so interesting that its hard to ignore them.I think in the coming days Monster hunter is going to have some serious competition.

Myst4132d ago (Edited 4132d ago )

Agreed. A big Monster Hunter fan and have been since at least I got my hands on the first PSP version. Yet with Capcom dragging their feet and Ragnarok Odyssey as well as Soul Sacrifice coming out later; that void is slowly being filled.

[edit]
I also now have the U2 song playing in my head ._.

rezzah4132d ago

I must still be in denial of other games filling that void because despite how similar they are I still want to hunt a Rathalos :(

Myst4132d ago

I know how you feel. My friend and I are even talking about starting up Freedom Unite all over again. Even though we beat that game many many times already.

rezzah4132d ago

i won't consider playing the previous titles again because they'll take too much time. And these days I have a ton of games to get through.

Also I always played with my two brothers and my cousin, so we would play 4 co-op. That is the best part about MH, the co-op; and that feeling you get for taking down the monster's after a long battle.

Zichu4132d ago

I played a bit of the PSO2 beta and it was quite enjoyable. I remember fighting some of the big mobs with a couple of random parties in one area. Was really fun and quite mental at the time.

Gods Eater Burst was a great game, GE2's graphics look better as well. Will definitely get that.

Soul Sacrifice looks like another game I could get into, and even Ragnarok Odyssey.

Need to get myself a Vita lol. Just spending my money or going to spend my money on other stuff. Will see if it drops in price on Boxing Day, might pick it up.

delboy4132d ago

Vita is a dead system, why would anyone except Sony release anything on it?
Developing and releasing a game on vita is too risky.
Sony fan boys can disagree with me,but it's the truth.

TongkatAli4131d ago

Your avatar says it all and you said Sony fanboys. You obviously don't like anything Sony, why would we listen to you ? you don't have credibility on your statements.

I like my Vita not Sony.

delboy4131d ago

My avatar lol

In fact I have a ps3,and I am not a Sony fanboy, I just don't like Ms xbox.
So I am a Ms hater, but that doesn't mean I'm sony fanboy.
I like sony, Nintendo, sega, pc ect.
And my comment above is just the truth, and truth hurts lol
Vita sells shity and has awful small user base.

But newer mind, just hit the disagree button it's something fan boys like to do.
Smart People will get the point.

kwiksilver994130d ago

i dont beleive its a dead system yet.there is demand for it as evidenced by the huge spike in sales following price cuts.
though there may be some truth in it being risky to develop exclusively for as compared to other handhelds with its lower install base.
i just hope the great games don't stop coming.

brickcap4130d ago

True. The coming year looks a lot exciting as far as japan is concerned.Though we are also getting sly in the first half.

delboy4130d ago

Not yet, i would sell vita for 99$ and make all my revenue from games.
The problem is,that developers don't make games and are waiting for user base to grow.
Gamers don't buy vita cuse they ate waiting for games and a big price cut.
And while the waiting game from both sides continue a system is daying.
And this is all Sony's fault, they're to stubborn to make a price cut.
The main target audience for handhelds are kids, and you should price it accordingly.

Sega sells Relic and will cut 240 jobs across UK studios

GamesIndustry.biz writes: "Relic is best known for the Company of Heroes and Dawn of War games, and recently developed the new Age of Empires for Microsoft. Relic will transition to an independent studio and will no-longer be part of the Sega group of studios.

The majority of the 240 job cuts are across Creative Assembly and Sega Europe, while there will be a ‘small number’ cut from Sega HARDLight. There was no mention of other Sega UK studios, including Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive."

Shame about Creative Assembly, they should have just been allowed to do an Alien Isolation sequel.

just_looken18d ago

It was that garbage coh 3 that did them in only a special team can make a sequel worse in every way even though it was a 10 year gap and the same era.

gold_drake19d ago

I hope they find new jobs in the industry soon.

Jingsing19d ago

Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive probably run on a shoe string budget so that fits into SEGA better lol
