Time, moving quickly as it always does at this time of the year, has left me in a bit of a daze. It barely feels like yesterday that 2012 was rolling around, and now 2013 is just around the corner; beckoning in yet another six month period where I will consistently fill out the year part of dates on forms incorrectly. 2013 won't be all about mistaking the date though, as graphics and processing power are set to improve, as they always do with time. Whilst we get old and decay, PCs and consoles only get better, meaning that we'll have some of the best looking games yet gracing our doorsteps in the coming months. We've lined up 25 of the best for your perusal."

I love borderlands, but it's a bad example to use for proving cell shade is "visually appealing".

Not to mention You never see the game at that angel, when you're playing it. Try these instead.

I have No clue how Starcraft 2 Heart of The Swarm made the list. Sure it has some nicely detailed units and a large amount of on screen units but Total War: Rome 2 flatout DESTROYS Starcraft 2 as far as Graphics!

Firefall is a the Best looking Cell Shaded game EVER. It makes Borderlands 2 PC look like CRAP!

Command and Conquer Generals 2 is on the Frostbite 2 engine and it will look PRETTY and play like CRAP....Thanks EA for once AGAIN screwing up a great series.

Project CARS kills every Racer as far as Graphics....and u can maybe even say Gameplay too and yes I 've been playing the ALPHA version and in it's ALPHA state P.C. is dam good!

Dayum. I've not really checked up on PC games in some time. Used to be a CS 1.3-1.6 player, then went to PS3. Love my PS3 exclusives.

But watching Firefall, Total War Rome 2, and Metro Last Light recently makes me really uh, whoa.

I will agree that Project cars looks fantastic! And still not totally polished.

Lost planet 3 also does look very good to great. as for the gameplay that is still up in the air for me.

I think the best lookers at this time keeping in mind there is still time for extra polish....

I think that **Media Molecule** with there new IP could be something extra special. We should be hearing more on the system Ps3 pr Ps4 soon, but I get a strong feeling it will be Ps4, to get it going in the fast lane fast.

I also wonder about the next gen, any new yet to be seen IP's?

The **last guardian and Beyond good and evil 2** should be showing us something this year, but are both beyond 2013 I am guessing...

almost any game on pc from the last 5 years maxed out makes last of us, god of war ascension, gears judgement, beyond or ANY game console gamers keep saying look so amazing, look last gen.

lol....it will looks as bad or worse than uncharted 3 , which looked worse than uncharted 2 by far, reason being, they will add to many objects, the 8 years old ps3 was outdated at launch, now its like a vhs player

NO GAME on console is visually impressive once you have played even a 6 year old pc game like Crysis in dx10 at 1080p

now, for visuals, on PC ONLY crysis 3, Metro Last Light, Arma 3, Grid 2, Star Wars 1313, Rome 2 Total War...ect...ect...

ps4 and nextbox will NEVER do what a pc can today

That would have clued you into the fact that they are NOT talking only about PC games or PC graphics standards. the real competition will be between crysis 3 and metro last light on pc

also, watch dogs and starwars 1313 probably won't be out next year, but if they are, on pc at least, there could be some challengers to the throne

last of us will look awesome for a console game and probably win in that space.

Aren't the next generation consoles coming out in 2013? I'd assume they are going to have some pretty decent looking games considering they will be substantially more powerful. Seems a bit premature for a top 25 for visuals.
