The First Four Minutes of Five Levels of DmC

Check out the first four minutes of the DmC levels Home Truths, Bloodline, Secret Ingesting, Overturn and Bad News. All four videos feature battles with demons, showing off many of the weapons Dante unlocks throughout the game, including Eryx, Arbiter and Osiris.

Personally for me I found this gameplay almost laughable to watch the thing. ... Yeah the trailer just kind of left me even more unsatisfied in this game. lol

the more I watch it or the more I play it, I feel this game feels a lot like Enslaved (one of NT's game). Enemies in here just look like a variation of enemies in Enslaved.

I guess it has a lot to do with Unreal Engine cause all games look similar in some respect.

I dont see the hate for the game ... it plays just like every other DMC, I own every one of them and it feels the same...just looks better and has better voice acting/story.

People just hate to hate ... theres nothing blatantly wrong with the game, the demo actually convinced me to purchase the game.

Just played the demo, it was absolutely awful, choppy animations, awkward controls and the game glitched up on me 3 times.

I wasn't expecting to like the game from the start given my feelings about the reboot but its genuinly just plain bad.

This game already had all the makings of a flop, but after playing the demo for Metal Gear Rising, and considering that GoW Ascencion and Castlevania LoS2 are being released next year as well... Donte may Cry looks like a train wreck waiting to happen.

DMC 1 and 2 are ridiculously bad. I have no idea why people seem to jerk all over it.

I basically stopped playing the second game.
Everyone is telling me to play 3. I hope it's better than the first 2.

DMC1 is the second best, for some it is the best in the series.

I went back and played the collection, and DMC 1 wasn't the timeless gem people make it.

Didn't even bother with 2.

DMC 3 is the best game in the series by far.

Ninja Theory's DmC looks cool, and interesting, but it's not a traditional DMC game. From what I've played it's solid, but not the game changer Capcom was hoping for, but it's greatest strength should come from story and character development which is probably my most important reason for playing DmC (which I'm happy, but upset about).

I'm glad we get to learn more about Dante, besides the half baked history provided by the other games, and I like the NT's take on how demons interact with the world. Hopefully a sequel can be produced where CAPCOM is in complete control of combat, they get the game looking on par with the cutscenes, and the expand on the DmC universe through NT's vision.

The combat looks okay-ish and I like that Dante can finally run like he isn't dragging bricks by his ankles constantly.

Really do not like the new aesthetic and direction, though. Environments and enemies are very bland. The new Dante is Euro-punk to an obnoxiuos degree with an attitude not unlike a common bully to match. And the dialogue is somehow worse despite the game being handed to a more western studio.

The plot, Vergil, Colour change trigger, mother being an angel, is terrible. Also his hair is white, not Blonde. Trish's hair is blonde.

So no I wouldn't change my opinion if his hair was white.

Well just like in Other M, a part of the game wouldn't be utter shit.

I played the demo for this game and I hated almost all of it. The gameplay was okay at best and sub-par at worst. The cutscenes are the only part of the game that occasionally run at 60 frames per second and on top of that the writing is complete shit.

I want nothing to do with this game and Dante's design is the least of my problems with it.

well Capcom, what this trailer did is remind me that I still have to buy El Shaddai. this level reminds me so so much of the demo I played for El Shaddai.

El Shaddai is nice, but the story flow isn't great. If anything they way the game looks and feels is unique, to me it was intriguing.

Combat system is simple, but becomes more complex when fighting the (side) bosses. Timing and understanding their various moves is essential in some cases because if you lose you continue on your journey without retrying; this applies for the side bosses only. I like the idea of not getting that second chance because it's a different experience, but also dislike it because I want to see if I can actually beat them.

part 3 and 4 were excellent imo, part 4 on pc performs perfectly, controls awesomely with a 360 controller and looks amazing, dx10, 1080p native, 60 smooth frames, 16xq anti aliasing, nice game!

Because Capcom have to know that people don't like the crap they pull. If everyone had the attitude you're talking about, the level of how much we're screwed over would skyrocket even more than what it already is. We have a passion for games and we want to see justice done to franchises we helped to build with our money. You can sit there and mock or degrade us for this, but there will come a day when a similar question is asked of you. When that day comes, remember this day and hope that you can explain to the one asking why it is you stand against moves like this.

I can respect your statement but I suppose what Crimso is trying to say is that its one thing to state your displeasure for the direction of the new game (I can personally see why some might not like it from a gameplay stand point)But its another thing entirely to go into every single DmC article (you know who you are) and flame it. Thats called trolling. And believe it or not there are actually some people that are interested in this game, which creates a hostile place to say anything positive. There is just way too much negativity.

So your right people should vocalize their displeasure for the changes but also move on for 3 reasons

1) Dmc is releasing on 01/15/13 no matter what. There is very little to no chance that if capcom hasnt been listening, they will all of a sudden and halt the production and say "Hey, guys we messed up, sorry were going back to the drawing board."

2)If it bombs hard, no one buys it and the reviews reek then Capcom will definitely go back to the old Dante with a game thats produced in-house from japan. We can all go on with the rest of our lives pretending that the game never existed and leave it right next to Dmc2. Hell you guys even get the satisfaction of saying "I told you so!" to Capcom for a while.

Conversely
3) If DmC does get glowing reviews (which Im starting to believe it just might) and it sells well (because good reviews tend to help generate good sales.) then from a business standpoint Capcom made the right decision.

So what it comes down to is not who screams the loudest about how much they hate "Donte" or how NT has disrespected fans and the franchise, but profit.

Speak with your voice move on but vote with your wallet.

That depends. If someone is going into every article and expressing their dislike of the game, I wouldn't necessarily consider that to be trolling. Especially when you consider that there is a huge propaganda war going on with this game between Capcom (and Capcom-Unity), Ninja Theory, and the idiot media who gloss over all the problems with this game.

And there are more that are upset with the bastardization of the game. It's unfortunate but the reality is that there really aren't any actual positives to this game. If I had more room I'd go over all the negatives and people could explain why those negatives aren't a problem for them.

1. Irrelevant. They need to know that this isn't acceptable for the future.

2. Or maybe they can the Devil May Cry franchise altogether and cite that no one likes the franchise anymore when, in reality, we didn't like this unnecessary redesign.

3. Yeah, I can already see the apologisers in the media kissing up to Capcom and how Capcom, Capcom-Unity, and NT are stating they eliminated fan hate even though if you look on Capcom-Unity (before posts are deleted) the official Facebook page (same thing) or Tameem Antoniades' Twitter you can see a lot of people asking why the game is too easy, why the style meter is broken, why the guns are nerfed, etc.. etc... etc.... That's not the hallmark of a good game, but it will be getting good scores regardless of truth. Then Capcom will continue on with this farce of a reimagining and the Devil May Cry as we know it will cease to exist. Resident Evil 6 is proof enough.

I sincerely hope people will not buy this game new. Capcom and Ninja Theory's arrogance should not be rewarded.

Just curious, but what does this mean to you?
IMO with reboots anything can potentially be changed from origins, Character traits, even sometimes the protagonist himself changes.

Maybe its because Im somewhat of a Comic Nerd myself but reboots are just re-imaginings of characters. These characters are often interpreted in different ways as they relate to the person that creates them. Does anyone remember Frank Millers take on Batman?
