Ellie actually looks like a troubled hungry child now.

MaxXAttaxX4144d ago

Which is a good thing.

And before, she didn't look her age.

Bimkoblerutso4143d ago

Kinda wish they'd fix that fivehead though.

PurpHerbison4143d ago

I see nothing wrong with a fivehead seeing as many people have them.

Bimkoblerutso4143d ago

...I dunno. I think they could subtract two from that thing and it would still look fine.

IAMERROR4143d ago

The snake comparison was just silly, why compare an NES model to a current one? lol Of course theyre going to look dramatically different but it has to do more with technology advances. hahaha

MaxXAttaxX4143d ago

That wasn't the NES model -__-

IAMERROR4143d ago

k, msx. point still stands lol

lociefer4143d ago

i must admit the old ellie model looks better

th3n00bg4m3r4143d ago

But, the old Ellie does not fit with the game.

lociefer4143d ago

i dunno, maybe she looks too childish or i have a thing for ellen page lol, regardless im getting the game day 1

Must admit, I prefer the new Elizabeth look.

Enemy4144d ago (Edited 4144d ago )

Elizabeth now looks more natural for the game's setting and atmosphere. Not too sure how a slutty goth version of her even made the cut at some point.

@ VsAssassin: LOL

Mounce4144d ago

I just found it odd that they were trying to cater her personality as an innocent-yet-older girl who hadn't grown up so she still had a child-like personality. Yet she was dressed like a giant cock-tease in all blatant means.

Not that I was complaining about the older look.....I quite enjoyed the view of anything that simulates a push-up bra. Only issue was indeed that, she was more sexualized than what Ken Levine wanted, even though her external style just contradicted the internal concept of her character.

Boobs were nice though, I'll miss them....

Bimkoblerutso4143d ago

Yeah, all slutiness aside, the hair, eyes and clothing just looks a lot more accurate to the game's aesthetic, I think.

Megaton4143d ago

It's not a new look. Ken said it's just how she looks in the beginning when you first meet her. Everything we've seen before is how she looks for the rest.

VsAssassin4144d ago (Edited 4144d ago )

Dante now looks like Hilary Swank from the movie Boys Don't Cry.

r40k2134144d ago

Great. Right when I was finally being convinced that maybe this new Dante isn't so bad, you show up and post that image. I hate him again now. Congrats.

Reibooi4144d ago

That made my day. I got one hell of a laugh out of that.

banjadude4144d ago

I cannot unsee this! damn you, lol.

VsAssassin4144d ago (Edited 4144d ago )

Honestly, I always thought of the new Dante (or is it Donte now?) as Hilary Swank when he was first revealed almost 2 years ago. I never thought that this would cause you guys mental damage after I voiced it out though! Hahaha!!! Sorreeee... >_<

r214144d ago

Isnt it possible that Elizabeth changes clothes later on in the game? Ah well, she still looks great.

Auron4144d ago (Edited 4144d ago )

Ive seen in the trailer she switches clothes and hair. It shoulda been chris redfield in stead of leon. Hes changed alot more than leon.

Megaton4143d ago

Not just possible, that's exactly what it is according the Ken. People questioned the change over Twitter, where he said she just looks like that in the beginning when you first meet.

Yui_Suzumiya4144d ago

I lol'd at the difference in Solid Snake. Metal Gear (1987) and Metal Gear Solid 4 (2008). Did they expect him to stay 8 bit!? LOL

The prevalence of parrying: Why is it so popular?

Parrying has been creeping into more games, with almost every high-profile title of the last few years featuring it in some way.  Why?

i understand the authors frustration i'm not the best at parrying in games. not that i can't complete a game that requires it but it is a definite harder thing for me than other kinds of techniques in games. which might be the main reason it's so heavily added in games nowadays. want to make your game challenging without having to do a lot of work? just add a parry boss. (what i mean by parry boss is a boss you have to beat by parrying such that their attacks will kill you otherwise)

Dudeson28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

I always think it's fine as long as such games also have the roll/dodge panic button. But I understand the will to parry, it seems so cinematic in a fight when you pull it off.
