Lightning Can Strike Twice: Rayman Legends Wii U Demo Impressions [GAMINGtruth]

Greg Bargas writes up his impressions on the Rayman Legends demo for Wii U.

"After playing through the demo quite a few times, it is no wonder that the continuation titles in the Rayman franchise have been such a hit. The second game in the series mildly changes things up a bit, having Rayman and Co. heading into portals hidden in portraits. At first, these images look nothing more than interesting, some housing what looks like a Medieval era. All of a sudden, KABLAM!"

I love what they are doing with Rayman these days. Wish I had a Wii U to try this out.

I played Origins on 360 about 3 months ago. It was my first Rayman game but it was fun. At least levels/ worlds 1-4.

As soon as I had to start running on the ceiling I was like "WTF" and instantly lost interest.

I like the Art style though....the colors...I wish they would make it a bit less weird though.

Rayman sure has come a long way!

I'm addicted to the demo. Can't wait for the full game...Its simply fun.

This game is beautiful! I can't stop playing the demo with friends and family. I think it's going to score a lot of perfect scores. As long as Rayman Legends maintains its integrity throughout the entire game, it could be one of the best 2D side-scrollers ever created. This is one of the reasons for having a Wii U! Now let's hope that Bayonetta 2 is just as good looking and plays just as well as this. I can't wait to see what more developers can do on this system. These are games being built from the ground up on Wii U and Rayman is a prime example of what the Wii U is capable of. Lighting fast load times, native 1080p/60fps graphics, solid controls, it's amazing!

I did see something about publishers limiting the amount of demo plays. Too bad its at 30. Lol, All I want to do is go back and play, but I do want to savor what is there right now. Yes, The platforming/presentation/artis tic blend is superb!!

YoungPlex4140d ago

Even though it's at 30 I still have 29 more tries! I've played many, many, many times, and my friends and family have too. Demo limits are fine the 3DS has them and I have yet to use all of my uses.

The demo is simply breath taking.

Mine is downloading right now. Kinda slow though. Should hardwire it I guess. Anyways is the demo really that good?

LaWiiG4140d ago

YES! I grabbed a LAN Adapter off eBay for 10 bucks. Best money I've ever spent ^_^

Will There Ever Be A New Rayman Game?

Ubisoft barely have a leg to stand on lately, so do they need to crack open the vaults and return platforming royalty to glory for some goodwill?

We need Rayman 4, they could make a great platformer game if they wanted. With the open hub levels and the like.

Better than relying on Rabbids and Assassins Creed all the time

Profchaos47d ago

Yeah agree id love a Rayman 2 style 3d platform game over another 2d platformer I know people loved legends but it never gelled with me same as Rayman 1 back in the day on PS it just felt like a average platformer with sonic and Mario offering something better on what was then last gen hardware

Terry_B47d ago

Yes..but I am sure it won't be the Rayman game fans want. Not from the company that is Ubisoft today.

mastershredder47d ago (Edited 47d ago )

Ancel is retired from games. His hoodlum/rabbid team are doing their own thing. It would not be the same if Ubisoft did.

Profchaos47d ago

Probably far more profitable to make low effort Rabbids games aimed at kids over a next Rayman

Chocoburger47d ago

Experience points, skill trees to fill up, level gating, endless menial tasks and side quests, constantly scrounging for resources. Always having to upgrade your gear. A.KA. "The Ubisoft effect".

No thanks, don't ruin Rayman's legacy.

Profchaos47d ago

Sure there will be it'll launch right alongside the next splinter cell

Rayman Legends - 10 Years of Legendary Platforming

Rayman Legends made its debut 10 years ago today, and has been launched on nearly every gaming platform since.

HankHill229d ago

Too bad Ubisoft only cares about live service games now. Maybe one day they'll make a new Rayman game.

Venoxn4g229d ago

Great games.. would be cool to get qn Origins remaster at least..I know that many of the levels are in Legends, but still

Outlawzz229d ago

Loved this game but wish they would create a new Rayman 3d game.
