Greg Bargas writes up his impressions on the Rayman Legends demo for Wii U.
"After playing through the demo quite a few times, it is no wonder that the continuation titles in the Rayman franchise have been such a hit. The second game in the series mildly changes things up a bit, having Rayman and Co. heading into portals hidden in portraits. At first, these images look nothing more than interesting, some housing what looks like a Medieval era. All of a sudden, KABLAM!"
Ubisoft barely have a leg to stand on lately, so do they need to crack open the vaults and return platforming royalty to glory for some goodwill?
We need Rayman 4, they could make a great platformer game if they wanted. With the open hub levels and the like.
Better than relying on Rabbids and Assassins Creed all the time
Yes..but I am sure it won't be the Rayman game fans want. Not from the company that is Ubisoft today.
Ancel is retired from games. His hoodlum/rabbid team are doing their own thing. It would not be the same if Ubisoft did.
Experience points, skill trees to fill up, level gating, endless menial tasks and side quests, constantly scrounging for resources. Always having to upgrade your gear. A.KA. "The Ubisoft effect".
No thanks, don't ruin Rayman's legacy.
A decade on from Rayman Legends' release, it remains a near perfect platformer, so what happened to Rayman? Will we ever see another sequel?
Rayman Legends made its debut 10 years ago today, and has been launched on nearly every gaming platform since.
Too bad Ubisoft only cares about live service games now. Maybe one day they'll make a new Rayman game.
Great games.. would be cool to get qn Origins remaster at least..I know that many of the levels are in Legends, but still
I love what they are doing with Rayman these days. Wish I had a Wii U to try this out.
Rayman sure has come a long way!
I'm addicted to the demo. Can't wait for the full game...Its simply fun.
This game is beautiful! I can't stop playing the demo with friends and family. I think it's going to score a lot of perfect scores. As long as Rayman Legends maintains its integrity throughout the entire game, it could be one of the best 2D side-scrollers ever created. This is one of the reasons for having a Wii U! Now let's hope that Bayonetta 2 is just as good looking and plays just as well as this. I can't wait to see what more developers can do on this system. These are games being built from the ground up on Wii U and Rayman is a prime example of what the Wii U is capable of. Lighting fast load times, native 1080p/60fps graphics, solid controls, it's amazing!
Mine is downloading right now. Kinda slow though. Should hardwire it I guess. Anyways is the demo really that good?
