5 Things Dark Souls II Must Do

Dark Souls is definitely an engrossing and well-designed game, and since it made a bigger splash than the Black Hydra in Ash Lake, the announcement of a sequel isn’t all that surprising.

So, since it’s probably, and hopefully, going to take a lot of time and effort for it to reach the gamers’ thumbs and fingers, why not list the five most important improvements and choices Dark Souls II should make?

Dark Souls "must" do only one thing: be as good a game or better than its prior incarnations.

And considering how conservative a developer FROM software has been for the past few decades, the odds of that happening are pretty damn close to 100%.

It has been confirmed for PC since day 1, I only hope they drop GFWL and stick with Steamworks.

I loved the change from Demons souls to Dark souls and would love a change on the same scale as the previous installment. I doubt that will happen since this is a direct sequel. I will be very happy with more of the same whilst focusing on performance, balancing and of course keeping the difficulty ramped up. If anything I say increase it. If they want a new audience with a sequel they should make a new IP.

Love the series and I think it is in trust worthy hands. Full blown new features would rock my socks off, though.

I guess I sort of agree with the writer on no. 3 - sure its a hard game, thats the whole point. I dont see how making Dark Souls 2 any more difficult is going to benefit anyone. From Soft aren't idiots they know this as well as anyone.

The rest of his points are mostly meaningless drivel with the exception of no. 4 - Dark Souls has one of the most the most skillfully crafted stories of any game Ive played. The thing is, its not laid on out in front of you in a series of voices overs or cut scenes the way other games are. Dark Souls makes you work for everything. Nothing is handed to you, the story is given out in small bites as you progress and to figure out the truth you have to actively seek it.

This game was so well written and designed in some ways I think of its story as a whole other mystery unto itself. Obviously I love the game, I will definitely buy the next one but I think its clear that there really never will be another Dark Souls. It may have a slightly different name or somewhat similar story/design to it but in itself the experience was at least for me truly one of a kind. I have a feeling for alot of us true Dark Souls fans that's exactly as it should be.

Combat like kingdoms of amalur would be awesome.

1.) some how tie in the story from dark souls about the letting man rule the earth or preserving the flames.

2.) depending on how you go with the story add a nexus and keep the bondfires

3.) keep the pace of the game, add more animations in combat.

4.) more variety! weapons, armor, spells, sheilds, set pieces, etc...

5.) keep the difficulties of the game, a good challenge is good for gamers, also promote stradegy guides and youtube playthrough. DO NOT MAKE IT ACCESSIBLE.

THE ONLY THING YOU MAKE ACCESSIBLE IN THIS GAME ARE THE "HOW TO" GUIDES. LET THE GAMER DO IT HIM/HERSELF!
