Media Create hardware sales (12/3 - 12/9)

Media Create published the latest hardware sales from Japan. First week Wii U sales are included.

That's because Japanese gamers thought they were getting something new and special with the Vita. Then they all realized they were better off staying with their PSP's due to the abundance of support for that platform still.

Personally, I think the WiiU numbers seem pretty good.

Sad to see the 360 has seen a significant decrease (1 unit) in sales compared to last week. ;P

Makes me pretty sad to see the Vita doing so bad :/ such a wonderful handheld though the lack of support is putting a dent on the handheld

On the bright side there should be a price cut in order in 2013

I believe 2013 will be the turning point for the Vita all we can do now is cross our fingers and hope.

Crazy numbers for the 3DS. Passed PS3 LTD in japan lol. Vita still dead in japan..I can't imagine how much longer the Vita can survive without system seller games.

Japan Love Nintendo and I have to say I don't blame them. I was not a big fan of the Wii or DS but Im loving my WiiU and 3DS at the moment and the WiiU has shocked at how good it is so early on in its life.

Sony have so work to do to try and get Japan away from Nintendo and MS Still have a lot of work to do to get a foot in the door.

I do think next gen will be Big for all 3 though. and I think it will work out that MS will have UK and USA, Sony Europe and Japan Will be Nintendo. I think it will be then close between 2nd and 3rd too in all areas.

Im hoping the vita stays at 11,000 or increases the coming weeks. Those new vita game announcements will surely help sales :D

For months I've been reading posts from Vita supporters stating that its fortunes would turn around in Japan when certain games were released. Well, I would have thought now would have been the right time for those games to have been released as those weekly sales numbers are abysmal given the time of year.

In NZ the Vita is now cheaper than the 3DS and it also comes with a free game, its an incredible deal and I'm sure its helping sales but it has me worried about whether or not retailers are ditching Vita support. Harvey Norman, Noel Leeming, The Warehouse and even DSE have little to no shelf space dedicated to the Vita. JB-HiFi has some shelf space set aside but traded in games take up more space than new ones. There is very little in store advertising drawing people to even look at the Vita as it all seems to be iPad this and iPhone that.

The Vita is sorely lacking a must have game to help it sell this Christmas. COD could have been it but really, its average at best. Vitas other big games are also available on th PS3 which you can buy new for even less than a Vita! I'm not saying the Vita has no games but where is that high profile must have game that puts the Vita back onto the radar for Christmas shoppers?
