With the game just released and barely hitting the 200k worldwide sales, I doubt they're already looking at a sequel.

They could just be working on another game or need help for upcoming DLC.

PirateThom4150d ago

I think they will be.

The gameplay is really good, but the presentation is ridiculously poor. Everything from the menus to the way single player is presented.

I have a feeling that they need to keep pushing forward to try and make the next game have all the right elements.

It certainly has potential to take the next step. They should definitely fix that horrid presentation - the menu interfaces and arcade mode are really boring and bland. Then you get in a match and it's totally a different game - very very fun and enjoyable. Once they add the 'big guns' like Crash, this series will take flight.

Jinkies4150d ago

HOPEFULLY...this time they will get better third party chacters and add more first party characters.

All they have to do is keep the first party characters in the game and add onto what they've already got. Maybe add secondary characters from the first party characters like for Nathan Drake they'll add Eddie Raja, for Radec they'll add Sev and for Cole they'll add the Beast.

All I want them to remove is the horrible third party characters and add more modes...is it that hard to add an OPTIONAL health mode.

@ SoundGamer

The sequel is probably for the next PlayStation, it makes perfect sense to start developing it now to start learning the new hardware

eferreira4150d ago

many fighting games have sold pretty low, it's catered to that crowd. Most fighting games hardly see 1m.

BitbyDeath4150d ago

Would make sense to bring it over to the PS4

ExCest4150d ago

I'd play/get it. Just balance out the obviously-better-than-others characters. And Heihachi's LVL 2. That LVL 2. Sh!t hits you even when you have spawn protection.

smashcrashbash4150d ago (Edited 4150d ago )

Excuse me who are the obviously better then others characters? Everyone is very effective in their own way.I have see someone use every character effectively in one way or another. Not being able to use a certain person's skills and spamming another person's moves doesn't make one character better then another. It just makes you a cheap player.Using Kratos's distance grab all the time doesn't make him better. That is like saying spamming Paul's punch in Tekken and Ivy's whip in Soul Caliber makes them better.

Sony must really hate money. lol

Bobets4150d ago

but loves us gamers.....

not like the other company who just release 1 exclusive each year.

Riderz13374150d ago

I'm pretty sure the game will be bundled and make it's money back plus profit. I mean, does it really look big budget? This was merely a test to see if people if care for this type of game.

grassyknoll4150d ago

I'd rather have a company make 10 smaller diverse games than one AAA game a year.

This would make a great addition to ps4 launch in the future.

Though PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale is a bit of a cult classic, it could have been a big hit if it launched in 2022 instead of 2012.

It wouldn't have mattered, Sony would've rushed it out and left it to die. More so now than before with their focus now being on SP narrative driven AAA games.

CrimsonWing69518d ago

Oh, but somehow Smash Bros. 64 made it work?

It just couldn’t compete with Smash Bros. and it wasn’t a free-to-play game like Multiversus.

PapaBop518d ago

I think it released at the right time. It's just after the success of Smash and Multiversus, it's finally time for a sequel.

spoonard518d ago

I'd be all in on a remake or remaster of the original. I enjoyed it because I didn't sit there and compare every aspect to SSB. I just enjoyed it as it was.

Magatsuhi518d ago

Sony should make part 2 and dump a good amount of money on it. Scrap super only kills and it's bound to succeed.

Father__Merrin518d ago

Yes the power kills spoilt it completely WTH was they thinking you should have hp bar that's it

God of War: Ragnarok Weirdly Makes PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Canon

God of War: Ragnarok has plenty of fun references to PlayStation history, but now fans have discovered a conversation that calls back to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale — the crossover fighting game released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Nyxus525d ago

I wouldn't say canon. More like an easter egg.

Deathdeliverer524d ago

That’s interesting. It actually does make it canon lol. He mentioned it in a mainline game. I’d say that’s pretty cool.
