Nice Try Capcom

"The 25th anniversary of Mega Man is coming up really soon, and I have been wondering if Capcom is going to do anything to celebrate the blue bomber. To celebrate Mega Man, they have taken a fan-made game called Street Fighter X Mega Man and are planning to release it on December 17th on PC for free. Give the trailer a gander, it’s pretty neat to be honest." -RoboAwesome.com

There is going to be more.

I guess this makes up for canceling Megaman Legends 3.[/sarcasm]

With the crap that Capcom have pulled this gen, I am far from a fan of theirs. However...

"Don’t get me wrong, I will still download it and play on my stupid computer."

You're going to sit at your computer to proceed to type up an article's worth of b*tching about this game and then download it? Hypocrite. If you think it's a lazy attempt, if you hate Capcom for putting it on PC, then why are you downloading it? The second you said that is the second you lost all rights to complain. You are what make people call us gamers who had a problem with crap like DmC entitled.

I have no faith in Capcom, but at least I back that up by not purchasing the crappy games they throw out like DmC.

I wasn't complaining about the game. The game looks awesome. I'm complaining about capcom and why at this point there is no reason for megaman fans to forgive them. I stated several times that the game and the creator deserve props. I also elude to the fact they could be doing more for the anniversary. Basically I'm saying wait a little bit before you cozy back up to them. I guess I thought my message was clearer.

I never said you complained about the game's quality. You complained about its existence as being a halfa$$ed attempt by Capcom at appeasing Megaman fans. And then you go "well, I'm still going to get it."

Don't you realize that that's all that Capcom is going to pay attention to? You can sit there and complain all you want about what they do but, at the end of the day, if you get their products then they've won and don't give a damn about how halfa$$ed you think it is.

If you want Capcom to go full a$$, stop encouraging them to be lazy buy buying, or downloading, any of their stuff until they get the hint.

It IS an half-@$$ attempt at appeasing Mega Man fans.

The last thing fans want is a game like this, of all Mega Man games to be released.

At least bring out Mega Man 11 for his 25th anniversary, for instance. This was the OP's point.

I will always heart CAPCOM and will always support their products

Flipgeneral4152d ago

I'm with you! DLC gouging was pretty awful, but they're not the only publisher responsible for such actions.

Theyve made and they still make great games and I hope for the best. I think they finally realized that there reputations been tarnished and will learn from their greed

That game is a rom hack, the current Capcom doesn't deserve the credit. I will only give it to the fan that made it. Only a deluded fool would think that the company did it for the fans, when in reality they trying to save their @$$ for all the negativity it surrounds them.

If this rom hack was released on psn ,xbla ,steam ,etc... Do you think that the fan that work hard for this game will get paid fairly? GET REAL, you know very well how Crapcom works...

Sonic Mania is the Apotheosis of Fanmakes

Have you played Sonic Mania? It’s a neat little game that captures the joy of what it was like to play a console game that wasn’t Mario. It’s truly a love letter to a decent game made by people that really love that game.

Top Ten Video Game Crossovers

Kevin of Paranerds writes : "You know what we love? Crossovers. Either in movies, TV Shows or comics it doesn’t matter, as long as we see a characters that’s not supposed to be in a universe make a cameo or appearance we get all giddy inside. I think that’s why we loved The Avengers, knowing all those characters from different movies share the same universe is awesome. The Simpsons will crossover with Family Guy this coming Sunday and that’s the first time in a long time I’m looking forward to a new Family Guy episode. Video games are no strangers to this either as there have been a number of crossover titles. Characters showing up in other games or even just easter eggs or cameos, it’s fun to see them let alone have a game based on the concept of a crossover. There have been a lot of these games. Some we’ve never heard of. But regardless here are the Top Ten Video Game Crossovers."
