laygamer.net: 2012 is done and dusted for gaming this year, with Far Cry 3 being the last real notable release on the gaming calendar. Well, except for those Wii U games that Geoff is burning his life-force away to get finished and reviewed. And that Epic Mickey game on the 3DS that I’m certain is a form of a divine punishment. But enough of that! What’s 2013 got in store for gamers then, huh? Let’s take a looksie.
Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."
You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is
That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.
Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth II was an intriguing and unique RTS title, that sadly suffered in its console port.
Was just thinking about this game and wishing I had a way to revisit it. The way EA scrubs these titles from existence once their licensing runs out is horrid.
Clive actor Ben Starr plays kiss, marry, kill with Final Fantasy characters, and decides to off Cid from Final Fantasy 12.
Ew VO actors and their cringe core. Fiverr voice actors could out perform this chump.
Now to play Devil's Advocate on both side of the Fence.
Good: Obviously MS is prepping for the Nextbox and new IPs on that.
Bad: One exclusive of a semi-tired franchise to tide over 360 fans.
Oh, and I know that this list is missing a couple exclusives on all the platforms too; Deadly Premonition comes to mind. And DL titles aren't on there either, but they still count.
I'm sure Microsoft has some XBLA titles coming exclusively to the 360 next year and maybe a hidden retail title that is not Kinect required. Then again, they could always leave to third party like the did with the first Xbox.
Why does all the sites that talk about the games coming out in 2013 use that image, if there are errors on it. Where is MLB 13: The Show?
A great list of all the exclusives across each platform.
As an owner of both consoles, I can't help but be disappointed with Microsoft's steady decline of exclusives over the last couple of years. Even if they have XBLA titles, that's still isn't enough because 9 times out of 10 every game isn't going to be a sure fire hit.
One thing that no gamer will deny is that at least Sony had a healthy dose of exclusives this generation. Last Of Us will be the game everyone will be talking about next year. I can guarantee that 100%.
On the PS3 side
1. Ni no Kuni (Not exclusive, released in 2010 DS and 2011 PS3)
2. Atelier Ayesha (Released in 2012)
3. Tales of Xillia/2 (Released in 2011 and 2012)
4. Yakuza 5 (released in 2012)
XBLA games don't exist any more I guess.
