Capcom: “Uptick In Pre-Order Sales” After DmC Devil May Cry Demo

Capcom conducted another fan Q&A for DmC Devil May Cry earlier today, where Capcom USA producers, Alex Jones and Greg Lewickyj, fielded questions from inquisitive fans, once again covering demo feedback, controls and Vergil. We’ve picked out the interesting questions and answers below.

PR bullshit of crapcom is PR, what else did you expect them to say. Anyway, crapcom said the same thing about the Resident Evil 6, as they LOWERED sales expectations.

GraveLord4150d ago (Edited 4150d ago )

So you don't believe them? LMFAO.

This is just common sense though. People played the demo, liked it, and pre-ordered the game.

Don't be so paranoid.

@Kur0 below...
Is that supposed to be a bad thing? The whole point of a reboot is to attract a new generation of gamers. Seriously, think before you write.

Hicken4150d ago

Why SHOULD someone believe them?

For all we know, the "uptick" is one or two more pre-orders a day; nothing really worth talking about, but it's still an "uptick," right?

Psychonaughty4149d ago

Your first mistake was expecting common sense on N4G, also I'm one of the people that pre-ordered the game after playing the demo ;)

Lord_Sloth4150d ago

The demo did nothing but confirm my fears.

MASTER_RAIDEN4150d ago

glad to hear it. never really interested in the game until i tried out the demo, which ended up being pretty great.

I've never played a DMC game before and I played this one on hard. Let's just say that it wasn't hard at all. I felt like I was playing Heavenly Sword.

The main character seems to be bipolar. In the beginning, he has a super monotone voice and a little later, he hits a drink out of a guy's hand and starts making douchey comments.

The story seems really cliche as well. "Hello, twin brother! Our angel mom and demon dad got killed by some guy. We are half angel and half demon. Let's make sure everyone knows that."

Also, the developers seem to be very fond of men with abs.

I did like the art style and the way the environment would start shifting and doing crazy things. Everything was very surreal and I thought things looked great. I feel that Ninja Theory would have been better off using their ideas on their own new IP. But overall, the demo was not great.

"Hello, twin brother! Our angel mom and demon dad got killed by some guy. We are half angel and half demon. Let's make sure everyone knows that."
^^ LOLLLLLLLLLL this much, i completely agree with.

Jinkies4150d ago (Edited 4150d ago )

LOL, I'm loving this "Pretend that the games good and that we've "coverted" people" PR bullcrap...it's kind of funny how desperate Capcom are.

"which IMO feels pretty good"

Yeah YOUR not buying the blood product, fans are...

"coupled with the fact the Angel mode was taking a button away on the control pad"

Then why did you add the crappy Angel mode in the first place

"receive an incredible amount of data from this testing—testers respond to questionnaires, give us feedback in discussion groups, we observe their play, and collect data from their play sessions. We then sift through that data and do the best we can to make adjustments and decisions from what we have learned"

Don't lie, it's very clear that you IGNORE complaints, put your fingers in your ear and shout "LALALALA not listening" when theres a complaint or when someone gives you feedback. Look at Ninja Theorys
Tameem Antoniades twitter when people have said stuff to him about the demo and he thought nothing was wrong with the demo despite being the final product even though it's broken. Yeah you dmc lovers are going to buy a broken game and your not even questioning it, well done

"Generally speaking I think we’ve a really positive response to the demo’s release."

Again "LALALA not listening" response combined with "Everything is fine, Everything is fine" response.

Jeez I could pick this PR bullcrap apart if I wanted, Capcom really ticks me off.

Kur04150d ago

Probably from people who have never even heard of Devil May Cry.

VileAndVicious4150d ago (Edited 4150d ago )

Meh... Dunno...
I own all the the other dmc games. After I played the demo I went and pre ordered it myself.

I thought the demo was pretty cool. Different but cool

TemplarDante4150d ago

if you thought this DmC was cool, you dont know cool.
new Dante = Delinquent.

VileAndVicious4149d ago

Dude Dante has always been a delinquent. And i was speaking more about the actual over all game play mechanics. I still don't know very much about dante in this new game. It's not like divulge much story in the demo.

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC5h ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Friendlygamer6h ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

monkey6025h ago(Edited 5h ago)

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya3h ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde3h ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
