Duo Gamer for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch - Review on Popzara

Here's hoping Discovery Bay can either release the Duo Gamer's abilities to developers other than Gameloft or develop one that every iOS developer can take advantage of, as right now $80 is too much to pay to play a handful of games slightly better.

This just proves many gamers still prefer the "BUTTONS"...just stop comparing cellphones and tablets to portable gaming consoles...

Yep no buttons equals no decent gaming session. Sadly some so-called journalists think that a tablet or a smart phone is a "gaming" machine. Jesus I'm sick and tired of these morons claiming that these devices are superior to dedicated game consoles when they are more expensive and even less capable of delivering mind blowing games.

Actually, a real journalist would welcome any new platform with open arms, allowing themselves the opportunity to experience something new and letting the platform rise or fall on how much fun or entertaining it is.

Gamer Snobbery is a cancer on the industry, one that shutters innovation and keeps those who might be willing to try new things from attempting something original. Thank goodness they are in the minority and not the "voice" they think they are.

Actually, what this and other controller attempts prove is that not ENOUGH people care about buttons; if they did the support would be better than it is, there would be games designed for it, and the users would vote overwhelmingly with their money to support it.

Sadly, most of these attempts fail because, simply, the interest simply isn't there. Even a dedicated portable GAMING console like the PS Vita, which was touted for its buttons, has failed to take hold with the very group that shouted the most how important buttons are. Yes, they're important in some cases, but do you need buttons for Angry Birds, Rayman Jungle Run, Temple Run, and countless other blockbusters?

Would having a dozen buttons and analog sticks have made them better? Again, with the Vita, the buttons only seem to have stifled innovation; in less than one year that portable has already produced the worst Uncharted, the worst Resistance, and now the worst Call of Duty games imaginable. But hey, at least they had buttons.

These are stupid because not enough games even support them.

My exact thoughts on MOGA and everything that came before. Not enough games and not well optimized.

$80 MSRP. Only works with GameLoft titles. And the author makes some very good points about it's quality.

Duo Gamer Review - Midlife Gamer

Simon Stevens says:"Whilst I am a huge fan of touch screen gaming on my iPhone, at times I find it very hard to get the same enjoyment when using my iPad. For the occasional games such as Zombie Tsunami where you have a one tap control method I have no issues. It’s when I have to hold the iPad in such a position that I can also reach two virtual thumb sticks that I begin to have issues. It’s just not comfortable."

ZTGD | Duo Gamer (Hardware) Review

Ken McKown writes: One of the biggest deterrents to playing some types of games on iOS is a lack of a dedicated controller. The platform has developed into almost requiring dual analog sticks and triggers, it seems ridiculous that games come out that don’t have that method. Discovery Bay Games is looking to remedy that with their Duo Gamer Controller for iOS. This dual analog stick controller works with iPad and iPhone games, but as of this writing, only a handful of them.
