Did EA Successfuly Port Mass Effect 1?

On December 4th, the original Mass Effect finally made its way to the PS3. The game is available via the Mass Effect Trilogy which was also recently released, but for those who already own both the second and third installments on PS3, fret not; Mass Effect may be downloaded as a standalone title. Finally, Sony fans can experience the first entry in one of the current generation’s best franchises, but how does this already-5-year-old game hold up on the system? Here, I will lay out my impressions of the port.

That's exactly why I never got Mass Effect 1 and I'm glad I have a reason to begin the trilogy. Any words of advice before I begin my long journey?

I'd just say have patience. It's pretty slow for a bit once you make it to the Citadel for the first time.

Just enjoy the shit outta that game, it's still my favorite in the series. I loved 2, but it wasn't quite as good as one. I still haven't beaten 3 actually but i'll get around to it some day. I can say from the beginning though that I don't like it a whole lot, feels so different from 1 and 2. All i'll tell you without spoiling anything is that they seriously forgot about the roots of the first game, being a massive RPG, and went more the shooter route for it's sequels, and especially part 3, not as much in 2.

I actually preferred 2 in terms of a globally better game but its true the first one when it came out was like damnn....

Not true, 3 was the best in the series (minus the original ending). The shooting was smooth and responsive and you had a great amount of stuff to choose from and level up. It also had some of the most influential choices in the series.

Be careful at character creation: I remember I wanted to play as a Vanguard but I looked around and couldn't see the option so I figured it would show up later in the game, it doesn't. I had to restart after a few hours in when I finally figured it out.

Also, don't buy a 360 for the sole reason of having the Mass Effect trilogy when Sony's just gonna release Mass Effect 1 a year later. Grrr.

when you eventually get to Mass Effect 3 when you leave the Cerberus Base to go to Earth turn of your console... And head cannon the rest. Trust me!

Seeing as how Mass Effect 1 was always a choppy mess, I'd say this was to be expected. I don't see how this comes as a surprise; the 360 version was just as bad if not worse. Let's not even mention Mass Effect 3 on WiiU.

ME1 has trophies.

As for DLC, I'm not sure about the Digital version but for the retail version:

- ME1 has only Bring Down the Sky. The other DLC wasn't converted due to the source code being corrupt.

- ME2 has the DLC that was released on the PS3 version as well as the Cerberus Network DLC. The only DLC missing are the character and weapon DLC and Arrival.

- ME3 doesn't have DLC included but the Extended Cut and MP DLC are free to download anyway. DLC such as weapon and character DLC along with Leviathan and Omega you unfortunately have to pay for them.

Ok I played the shit out the 360 version when it came out I can tell you that these articles are BS the load times are much better on the PS3 version.As far as frame rate I had some dips at the citadel little in some parts but nothing compared to the 5fps on 360 everytime I visited a planet or when i got into a firefight.
