wtf where is AC3 and far cry 3
and remove this sh*t ( FTL and HALO 4) from the list

rezzah4157d ago

AC3 was good but not GOTY good.

fermcr4157d ago

OK list. It wouldn't exactly bee my choices for best games of the year, but it's their opinion, not mine.

I would take out of the list: Guild Wars 2, The Unfinished Swan, Hotline Miami, FTL, Journey, Mass Effect 3. Good games but not GOTY.

Include these games to the list: XCOM, Max Payne 3, Assassin's Creed 3, Far Cry 3, Torchlight 2, Sleeping Dogs.

Norrison4157d ago

GW2 is pretty much better than the games you listed, I would keep far cry 3 MAYBE torchlight but the other ones aren't GOTY material like GW2. I do agree with the other picks you want to kick out.

AC3 = GOTY?? ... c'mon man!

omi25p4157d ago

The best games of the year in my opinion are:

1.Far Cry 3
2.Halo 4
3.Max Payne 3
4.Hitman Absolution
5.Forza Horizon
6.Dishonored
7.Assassins Creed 3
8.Spec Ops: The line
9.Sleeping Dogs
10.The Darkness 2.

I don't think I've ever seen so many contenders for overall GOTY on any website haha. I find it hard to vote for anything as I haven't played many. Borderlands 2 was good, but not what I was expecting. I don't feel that urge to get my character to level 50, or play with the other characters any more. With the first game, I was all over that, but not in 2, idk why. Halo 4 had a good story, but I was disappointed with the multiplayer.

Mark of the Ninja should be considered for a nominee. Iam not a fan of stealth games but I love this, its my GOTY.

Zha1tan4157d ago

My personal contenders are

Planetside 2:

Reason? This game is just off the scale with hundreds of players involved in battles, a rewarding massive unlock system, battles that mean something besides k/d boosting/ score whoring. And to top if off its free to play.

Far Cry 3:

I dont even need to say it? best open world game in such a long time, graphically amazing, best characters ive experienced in a video game, sorry uncharted but your bad guys are a shadow to Vaas.

I agree.Best FPS i've played in 2012. Do you like large open maps? Ok, how about an entire planet?? So much better than Battlefield games, and its FREE. Totally worth at least trying it out.

for me GOTY is Zombi U ... so intense, so fresh!

Nashville area wouldn't be bad tbh, but I'd prefer to take that back to the west coast.

Along their thinking, New Orleans would be better. (There isn't a New Orleans setting, is there?)

Nacho_Z6m ago

New Orleans would be interesting and a welcome change. It'd feel like less of a copy and paste into a new area and more of a fresh start.

Pacific northwest. Bethesda seems to want a verdant apocalypse these days. Oregon is a low priority nuclear target. Plenty of lush forest with a bit of metro area thrown in. Obviously I'm biased.
