Sony's new handheld isn't the hottest item in the world, but why? Is it the relatively high price, lack of big-time games, or something else...?
Final Fantasy 7 has come back under the spotlight thanks to the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but is it worth replaying the original?
Very much so. Graphically it's dated but the story and the gameplay haven't aged a day. It's still one of my all time favourite RPGs and for me is better than Remake in some ways.
Uncover secrets, defeat challenging bosses, and upgrade your arsenal in these exciting Metroidvania titles on the PlayStation Vita.
"The London-based (the UK) indie games publisher PQube and Tokyo-based (Japan) video games publisher and developer Acquire, today announced with great delight and excitement that "Class of Heroes 1 & 2: Complete Edition", is coming to PC (Steam) and consoles (PS5 and the Nintendo Switch) on April 26th, 2024." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
Memory card price.
People complaining, a lot.
And people saying they hate it, there's no games, it sucks, etc. when they've never even held one or looked up the games that are out and are being developed for it.
Other than that, it's fine in my eyes.
sony should get out of the handheld market and focus their strength on their consoles. nintendo owns that market and always have. they could save that money and invest it towards making ps4 a big success. thats my thoughts anyway.
Sadly it is both price & games,
Sony's target market for the PS Vita are the core gamers, the console gamers, the teens to adult gamers, those who are working and can afford to buy their own gadgets & games.
While Nintendo's target market are the children who have parents to buy for them to keep them occupied & busy while mom and dad work or mind their business. these are also the types of parents who can't afford to give their kids expensive electronics like PS Vita, smart phone or tablet.
Therefore the types of games follow.
Kids out number adults but as a parent would you buy your 5 year old kid a PS Vita to play Persona 4 or Soul Sacrifice?
Video Gaming is a niche market and Sony is targeting a niche with in a niche.
No matter how you spin it portable gaming is generally perceived as CHEAP gaming for kids & young adults.
It is a concept that Android and iDevices successfully adopted to their strategies. Given their massive user base they can offer games even much more cheaper than Nintendo.
Sony should start making Vita a platform for both kids & adults! Make the Vita a well rounded all around system.
If Sony wants to do the impossible like they did with PS One by bringing the adults play console games be my guess! Carve your own path again but at least do not neglect Nintendo's market.
Look at Microsoft, Xbox 360 went for the PS2 market pie and ran off with half of the pie!
Now with games like Monster Hunter 4 Nintendo is going for the PSP market & now they are running off with more than half the pie.
Nintendo is currently making a 3DS successor as Miyamoto announced it as soon as they launched the 3DS.
And I bet they could be as powerful as the PS Vita upon launch but the difference will be their pricing, target gamers and the games - it will still be geared heavily towards kid friendly games and some games for the young adult.
Well i love my vita get used all the even on my lunch brake at worked. didn't people say the same thing about the PS3 u lot make me sick.
At least Sony are finally advertising the damn thing heavily (in the UK at least)...
