Actually has a good chance to be overall game of the year cause it is that good even if it is an enhanced port.

For me it is just as or even better than it was when the game released in 2008. About to start NG+ after spending over 100hrs on the first playthrough.

Great story, great characters, great music, great voice acting, great gameplay, great game!

It would be awesome if it was even nominated for overall GOTY.

I've never played any Persona-games. Maybe shame on me?^^ What would you say is the essence of those games? Why should anyone play them? :) I have a Vita and I am tempted but short on fundings :P

@ a08andan

At its core Persona is of course a JRPG but underneath it is sort of a life lesson. As the main character you basically live out your daily life meeting friends, going to school, stuff most normal teens do.

Yes there is the rpg mechanic by going into dungeons, killing stuff, leveling up that sort of deal. However the stronger your ties to your friends & the people you meet the stronger your 'Persona aka. Pokemon' can get granting you more abilities & stats.

If you read the article above the reviewer does a good job describing his experience as a first time player of the franchise.

Personally although i love the Final Fantasy series the Persona series is a deeper, more engaging, engrossing experience cause it deals with more realistic issues.

I'll have to make this a mission the next time I blow through Tokyo.

Hopefully soon, given the limited availability.

send me one while you're at it. I mean what's better than Whiskey and Persona? A cigar with the two, and that would be perfection personified.

Remasters And Remakes Make Up 90 Percent Of 2023's Highest-Rated Games

Only one of the games on the top ten is completely original.

90 percent of Metacrtitic's top ten highest-rated games of 2023 so far are remasters and remakes, with Hi-Fi Rush acting as the only wholly original game to make the list so far.

We might only be in March, but it seems like we've already got tons of great games to be talking about, including Dead Space, Resident Evil 4, Hi-Fi Rush, Persona 4 Golden, and Metroid Prime Remastered. There is one commonality between those games, however - most of them are remakes and remasters.

I don't usually buy Switch games until the holidays when they have the elusive sale.

dead_pixels405d ago

Can't blame you there. The bargains don't come too often on the eShop, that's for sure.

I feel like they're getting stingier and stingier, at this point, if the game is on something else, I'd rather buy it there where it's cheaper.

Already own physical versions of Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Strikers along with digital versions of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden on Switch. Will definitely double dip if physical versions of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden.
