Obviously...the game looks terrible for a dmc game and even looking at it as a new game it's broken and bland.

The guy said at NT that he isn't going to fix the game so why buy it when it's broken.

DragonKnight4158d ago

Yeah. Tameem was directly confronted about the game's style meter mechanics and he said "Looks like some great combo work there, why fix it?"

So, there's proof that it sucks and they don't care.

Jinkies4158d ago

Exactly, I love how the white knights have been trying to defend this game and calling us haters when we saw this coming a mile away.

I hate it when people say

"Don't judge a game before it's out when you havent played it"

I knew it was going to be terrible before the demo, now that I've played it people are now saying it won't be the final version, yet Tameem has confirmed it is the final version, then you get people saying play it on the hardest mode despite it still being broken and easy as hell....I could go on but it's one excuse after another.

DragonKnight4158d ago

Of course it's the final version. The game comes out next month. The game has definitely gone gold by this point and no changes are going to be made. If anything, it's in the tweaking phase but even that's not going to affect the final product drastically.

The apologisers don't know what they're talking about, and it's a shame that Capcom and Ninja Theory seem to be buying the media left and right to say that this turd is a good game.

I think the only reason this game would dissapoint me is if people actually buy this game. The apologizers will be the only ones that will be heard and the real fans will be ignored. I like how you say this game is a complete bastardization of the DMC series, and thanks for showing those videos backing up your points, the one with the meter made me cry a little, I havent tried the demo but I have a feeling I can easily get an SSS on my first try.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

PhoenixRising374158d ago

Capcom clearly needs a slap in their face. They need to listen to their fans to succeed. I played the DmC demo multiple times, and every time Dante opened his mouth it reminded me of Jake from RE6. THAT IS VERY BAD.

A7XEric4158d ago

The demo was great. DMC fans can suck it.

Dante's hair sucks and there's no lock on. God damn I hate everything about this series' fans. If this was DMC5 I would understand some of the criticism, especially regarding the art direction, but I guess this series' moronic fanbase can't seem to grasp this is a reboot. I guess the new Tomb Raider blows because Lara's tits aren't as big as they used to be. Seriously, DMC fans can suck it.

Kyosuke_Sanada4158d ago (Edited 4158d ago )

I'm sure here not being able to swim or regenerating health has nothing to do with it.

I can explain, the faults with the game's engine, character development or the style system to name a few but Ill ignore all of that because its so much easier to look at everything in a myopic view.

Nothing wrong with liking a game reboot but saying that it should have taken a new route to ruffle feathers or insulting the former fanbase is a bit much.

Elda4158d ago (Edited 4158d ago )

I won't JUDGE DmC until I've finished playing it!...loved the demo!

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC3d ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Exvalos2d ago

What a weird name, it's essentially devil may cry, devil may cry lol

Cacabunga2d ago

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5

2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me

Friendlygamer3d ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya3d ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde3d ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me

SeTTriP3d ago

This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.

I hope he forms a new studio soon

It is a good studio.. i really enjoyed their dmc game that i platinumed it.
I did not try hellblade, because it doesnt tell me much.. Enslaved was very mehhh
Heavenly Sword was good not great. Amazing graphics back in the day but so repetitive and not so engaging in the long run.

stoney10115d ago

I really enjoyed Enslaved and Heavenly Sword back in the day. Wish they'd return to that sort of game. Hellblade isn't really for me to be honest. Not saying it's not a good game, I just couldn't get into it.

Popsicle14d ago (Edited 14d ago )

That is fair. I enjoyed Hellblade but can definitely see how it isn’t for everyone.

Would like to see how Heavenly Sword would have turned out if developed today. It’s easy to forget that games like Heavenly Sword were unprecedented and in their infancy.

shinoff218314d ago (Edited 14d ago )

Enslaved has been their favorite game for me. Loved the atmosphere.

1nsomniac14d ago

Heavenly sword was a staggeringly good game!! One of the most memorable of the PS3 generation in my opinion.

Babadook714d ago (Edited 14d ago )

Heavenly sword was good. It had ambitious graphics and as a result the frame rate suffered and as a result the gameplay suffered. But the story was phenomenal. Great acting, especially Andy Serkis as the king.

Jingsing15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

"Microsoft" we all read between the lines. We have seen the exact same thing happen with many of their other acquisitions

InUrFoxHole14d ago

Jesus man! Try reading the article at least.

cthulhucultist14d ago

One thing that pleasantly surprised me, was the Switch port, as back then it was my only console. The graphics were amazing and the artistic design helped a lot to enhance the visuals.I took some really impressive screen shots while playing which I still revisit them from time to time to remind me what a capable developer (QLOC) can achieve with weaker hardware.

5 Years Later, Devil May Cry 5 Still Quenches My Hack-And-Slash Thirst Like No Other

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Devil May Cry 5, the latest iteration in the iconic DMC franchise by Capcom, still holds its own as a fantastic hack-and-slash in 2024."
