Hitman: Absolution – PC Performance Analysis

DSOGaming writes: "Ah, Hitman: Absolution. A Square Enix game that is ported to the PC by Nixxes. Awesome, right? After all, Nixxes was behind the PC version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, a version that featured a lot of graphical options, a FOV slider, and took advantage of quad-cores. In all seriousness (and despite the fact that there was an annoying stuttering effect that was later fixed), Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a great PC port. Therefore, we were expecting Hitman: Absolution to blow us away. However, it did not. And did you know that the PC version suffers from console optimizations? Oh, you didn’t know that, right? Well keep reading to find out why Hitman: Absolution PC is not as good as DE: HR, Max Payne 3 or Sleeping Dogs."

your freaking gpu came out in 2008......over 4 years ago, what do you expect.....

on my 680 it runs at 120 frames maxed out, it looks 10x better than any console game ever created, it makes uncharted 3 look like a psp game

your site is getting annoying, every game this year is a "bad port" in your opinion

guess what dude, NO GAME IS PORTED TO PC!!!

all games are made on pc, scripted, coded, created on pc, therefore all games are native to pc and PORTED to consoles

it runs like crap on your pc because you are using a 4 year old gpu and trying to run everything in ultra, including new settings and techniques that were not even available at the creation of your 3 generations behind gpu!

turn off the ssao, turn aa down to 4x, disable a few minor things, its will run at 50-60 (double console) at double console res with still 5x the fidelity of the terrible, sub-hd jaggie filled console version

how are you a pc gamer and still cannot figure out how to adapt to the limitations of your outdated rig?

either buy a 5 or 6 series card or prepare to turn a few minor settings down

this games run flawless, even on a gtx 560 (a sub-$200 card)

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-...

this card SMOKES you ancient crappy, overheating 295

here's some dude getting over 100 frames with a $190 card....lol.....trade that piece of crap 295 in for a good card or use it for a space heater

It's ironic, but you failed to realize that when the GTX295 is used at 98%, the game runs with 70s-80s. You also failed to realize that Hitman: Absolution is CPU-bound and not GPU-bound. How are YOU a PC gamer and cannot even do basic things as reading is beyond me. You even failed to read what happens with all options at their lowest settings. You even failed to realize that the CPU handles graphical features (which is a typical thing for mere console ports, due to consoles featuring more powerful CPUs than GPUs, thus developers using the CPU for graphical stuff). Seriously kid, start reading. It will do you good in the future and you might learn one or two things.

How IO turned Hitman around, from Absolution to World of Assassination

When Hitman 3 recently changed its name to Hitman World of Assassination, fans had no idea how meaningful the moment was. On the outside it looked like a simple thing: Hitman 3 would now be known by this name and include levels from Hitman 2 and 3 - the trilogy would all be in one place. But on the inside, at IO Interactive, much more was going on.

You mean destroyed it with this tethered single-player campaign BS... And only the first few levels of the third modern game were on the disc! I'll never support this crap at any price-point! They've lost me as a customer.

Hitman is, and has been, a remarkable series developed by some of the best. Some are better than others, but every Hitman is challenging and fun.

Sure, there have been some stumbles and fumbles, but always in pursuit of the perfect Hitman game. The most recent trilogy is a masterclass in level design.
