Ubisoft’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, has been vocal about his desire to see next generation consoles like the “Xbox 720″ and “PS4 sooner rather than later. Big game publishers like Ubisoft have had to make changes to the way they conduct business, as this console life-cycle extended beyond the traditional five year span.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot commented on Grand Theft Auto 6, the future of Xbox, and Skull and Bones' pricing during the company's financial conference call.
No it won't, it will just further highlight the huge disparity in top tier open world games and Ubi's poor attempts at them.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot was asked about the company's plans for the convergence between AI and creativity in game development.
Cool so I'm just going to have to climb towers in a more reactive world thanks ubi that wasn't your problem.
In my view ubi needs to clean house rehire all the writers because their stories are paper thin this focus on needing to be woke play as anyone has done nothing but harm the quality of their games which have gotten so bad lately it somehow makes their average games from 10 years ago look like masterpieces
Why don’t you just focus on making good games again? Hurts me to see what a soulless shell of a company Ubisoft has become. Captain Laserhawk on Netflix is the most creative thing they’ve had anything to do with in a decade. Which is just sad.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot and CFO Frederick Duguet talked about Skull & Bones, Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, and continued to tease the unannounced "big game" which is now slated for Q4.
That whole statement about the ABK deal I heard as "Hey, we're available for sale for $68B as well! Come buy us! We have good mobile IPs as well!"
I'm not saying it couldn't but after what they've just went through, imagine getting another one passed.
Yes.
Innovation....hell no.
Aggressive horse power...Hopefully YES!
Hate to see MS and SONY go the way of nintendo. Rumor is MS have 2 sku's in the works with one more focused around casuals (kinect, lower specs) and the other for the hardcore gamers.
We shall wait and see.
Having two skus that have radically different capabilities....talking horsepower, would be a serious misfire.
It's one thing to have a console with an add-on; it's something else to have consoles with different types of ram or amounts if ram. Differing chip sets etc.
If MS new console is indeed $299 with 8gbs of ram (fast ram would be needed).....that's all that they'll need to force ninny into a wiiu+
Ps4 I expect to be equal to MS. They won't shoot for more. Sony cant afford a loss on new console. And they can't charge for online mp....many would jump ship if they did.
Classic controllers will always be the standard. It's like a mouse and keyboard for PC, touchscreen will never replace it ever.
Nintendo are wrong with their stupid motion controls. If I wanted to move around while gaming, I'd go outside and move around.
Bullcrap. Give a developer all the power and tools in the world and 3/4 of them will just do the exact same thing. The Wii U is a next gen console. Where is the innovation from Ubisoft? They are so hellbent on next gen being more innovative and yet their first few offerings for the Wii U are no where near innovative or simply ports. The PS3 is on it's last few years before next gen and we are still getting Last of Us,Puppeteer, Rain,Guacamelee and Last Guardian.
It has nothing to do with the console. Give a lazy developer all the power in the world and they will make another linear shooter, with on rails vehicles, horrible story, short campaign and drawn out MP with the only quality everyone harps on about is how realistic the sand, water or forest looks. A shiner but very even less innovative game.New consoles won't give new attitudes to most developers.Their ideas of innovation is some pointless gimmick, making sand or water look more realistic or some crappy MP mode. That is far as innovation goes these days.If you give most of them the chance to be innovative they probably won't take it.That being said there are some exceptions who I know will make better games with more power and better tools but that is only a small group.
