I didn't like the demo at all actually. I hate the new presentation of the game, it's really twisted and demented, which is fine, it's just not my style. I'm sure it will cater to others though. It feels like an acid trip, and I don't particularly like that style.

LOL, MG:R will not be the new hack 'n slash king, maybe it'll be the best Japanese H&S but it won't be the best in the world.

Is it possible to suck at the DmC demo? It was extremely easy even on Son of Sparda (hardest difficulty given) I seriously wonder how many people even died at all with their first play through the game.

The voice acting and characters is surprisingly likable but I don't like the setting either. Demonic and Evil with random crap. The gameplay at least from the demo was boring and repetitive.

I'm still debating on it but Capcome shouldn't of gave us a super old version of the game.

What the demo says about DmC? That all the fans who have been arguing since the first gameplay trailer were right and Ninja Theory has no idea how to make a game or care about anyone but themselves. Change in character models is one thing if this is suppose to be before the earliest in the timeline, however NT did a horrible job and they all look ugly. The gameplay was a train wreck. On top of being slow and clunky (complete oposite of the real Devil May Cry) it was also unresponsive 90% of the time and very repetitive, the ironic part is even with the unresponsive controls you could still get a triple S on the hardest difficulty. This is nothing like Devil May Cry and even if they do change the name the bad controls make it a bad game. Capcom made a poor choice giving a beloved franchise to a developer who has a handful of mediocre, poor selling games. NT is even worse for insulting fans and the creator of the franchise.

Exactly, we wernt "hating" we were simply pointing out the obvious. Tameem Antoniades isn't going to fix the game after the demo since he's clearly stated that on twitter already, he dosent care about fans, you would be buying a broken game and to be fair they just don't deserve any sales, the way they've treated the fans and the franchise they deserve to fail.

I didn't like the new style. I'm not a huge DMC fan so I couldn't care less that it is a re-boot. I just didn't like the whole eyeball's on the wall sort of crap and the crazy whip to move buildings etc. The whole art direction rubs me the wrong way.

There IS a reason people don't like it... Where to begin... The fact that you can get SSS rank in about 15 seconds. You DON'T ever lose it until hit, you can just stand there and keep a SSS combo. You can just spam the same attack over and over to rank up. You can juggle an enemy in the air for an infinite amount of time using the same attack over and over. The guns are useless now, it takes about 20 seconds of straight shooting to kill one enemy with them. The Scythe thing is useless because the red axe-like weapon is over powered. The enemies are really stupid and just sit there. The game is super easy even on the hardest difficulty setting. You can get an SSS rank for the level at the end even if you get the lowest grade on both the time it took and the enemies you killed. The demo has some game breaking glitches (that the main director was notified about and said it would ship that way.)

Take your pick of those, because seriously, I REALLY wanted to like this game. It's clear however that they didn't care about the series, and weren't serious about making a product they could be proud of. They just wanted a quick cash-in.

I love how it starts with ''I am a Devil May Cry fan; I have played and completed every game in the series several times and admittedly have become a little obsessive over Dante and his adventures. Pretty much. Anyone who still thinks the concerns are only about the hair and Dante's looks is delusional. And these are concerns brought up since day 1 of announcement and the online defense task force still hasn't caught on to that.

It's sad that so many people don't recognize sincerity and can't tell the difference between an honest opinion and an ad. This sounds like it was written by a bunch of old dudes in suits who did just enough market research to get them by. This game isn't entirely broken and maybe passable as a hack and slash. The truth is though that it's absolutely broken when taken as an attempt at a Devil May Cry Game. Not even close.

not very much locked at 30 frames per second. I gave it a chance, DMC has been always about fast paced gameplay and over the top attitude.

I saw some of the cutscenes and all the unnecesary swearing pulled me back but I kept searching because sometimes a game with average gameplay is fun because of its B-style over the top writing like ''Shadows of the Damned'' but......just no, it crosses the line into pathetic, I actually felt ashamed because of the trying-too-hard writing.

So DmC has just good level design (even though I miss the gothic style I gave them this because it looked good).

I actually agree with you on, something, Ritsuka.

It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad, either. I didn't expect it to be crap, anyway, so I wasn't too surprised.

That said, I still feel like it's more of a spinoff than a true DMC, and it's got nothing to do with the story and everything to do with everything else.
