Two games set on a frozen planet are slated for release next year – Lost Planet 3 and Dead Space 3. While Capcom didn’t invent ice planets, they popularized the setting with Lost Planet: Extreme Condition before switching to a tropical areas with Lost Planet 2. We asked Capcom producer Andrew Szymanski and Matt Sophos, the game’s director at Spark Unlimited, what they thought about the comparisons.
Lost Planet 3 launched 10 years ago today, with an unusual take for it's time; casting the layer as an everyman opposed to an action hero.
The Humble Capcom Heroic Collection Bundle just launched recently. It has ten items including Monster Hunter Rise, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, and more.
I took advantage of the $1 deal for lost planet 3, strider, bionic commando and mega man. 3 of them run great on my steam deck. bionic commando sadly does not.
ive left humble bundle long time ago the pricimng is now off as well as game collection. humble monthly used to be excellent but thasts also downhill
If EA and Motive Studio plan on remaking all the main Dead Space entries, they have to change a lot of what made Dead Space 3 so divisive.
Simple, do not bother with a Dead Space 3 remake. Rather have a new entry for Dead Space.
Remaking 3 would need to be a reworked and somewhat changed remake as 3 was flawed in most peoples eyes and the worst entry.
shouldn't crapcom compare resident evil to dead space?
They should be talking about why the hell my PS3 and Vita still don't have a Monster Hunter release.
They should be talking about why Monster Hunter is MIA from PSV and PS3... And were my Resident Evil PSP game went!
And showing off DMC5, cause this DmC stuff is BS!
They should be talking about how I'm not going to buy either one.
Lost Planet 2 was an abortion of a game. I have never been so dissapointed in a game before. I wanted to like it but couldnt. I even pre ordered it and everything. There were a few good spots with the bugs and a couple of boss fights. The problem was the boss fights were impossible on your own to do. You needed coop players.
The gameplay was outdated and the AI was beyond pathetic. Dead Space destroys them in every category. Chances are visceral didnt nod at them. They probably said that they could do it better and from the looks of it, they did.
Either that or just coincidentally picked a similar setting. I find it hard for someone to be inspired by Lost Planet at all. The only thing lost planet has going for it is the ability to use mechs.
