When a new video game IP is a hit, it’s an inevitability, like in any medium, that the idea of a sequel is going to be thrown around. In the instances we’re about to look at, though, there’s the general feeling that the developers should have spent a little more time working on them, because the results proved less than satisfactory. Some of the games were first sequels, while in one instance, the offending game was in fact the fifth direct sequel in the series, but whatever the genesis, all the following games share the same issue; the devs attempted to cut corners and save time, perhaps having to rush the product to its seemingly immovable release window. Some games had other, stranger issues, such as having to live up to the hype of releasing a sequel on a new platform, or catering their title to a specific audience, each excuse infuriating in its own right.
Here are, for whatever reason, the 10 worst video game sequels of all time.
VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."
3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them
2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.
God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best
Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...
5, 3, 1, 4, 2.
I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.
But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
Perfect Dark Zero launched alongside the Xbox 360 back in 2005, to much criticism. 18 years later, is it worth another look?
Perfect Dark Zero was the first game that I purchased for my XBOX 360. I still have the game in my collection. I think I played it for about 45 minutes in total over the past 18 years. It's a really bad game, and I was so disappointed when I first fired it up almost 20 years ago.
I had fun with the mutiplayer. Didnt feel like Perfect Dark, but still had some fun with it
GF365: "The iconic survival horror franchise Resident Evil boasts a great number of popular and memorable characters. Arguably, Leon S. Kennedy is the most popular and recognizable character aside from Jill Valentine. In this article, we'll be counting down every Resident Evil game Leon is featured in, ranked."
Yeah I figured it would be ordered like this. For me Leons best game was his debut. RE2.
DX Invisible war was ok not great but I would recommend it the Unatco level is pretty cool and nostalgic
DmC will be 1 of them broken ass combat

as a hardcore prince of persia fan i will say WW was not a bad game, but it just wasnt right, sure it upgraded the graphics and the combat was way better but it was to dark and grittya nd one of the things i love about the PoP series is that it doesnt need to be that, maybe thats why sands of time and PoP08 are my favorites because they focused on the character interaction between the prince, princess, and the villians, instead of the whole im angry, so lets be dark and gritty, and add blood, and curse.
Although I still had fun with Mario Bros 2, it was so weird. So different and stupid. At least they made up for it with SMB3.
