OXCGN:
"This has been one of the most prolonged console generations in the history of video games.
While traditional generations have lasted anywhere from three to five years, this one technically began in 2005 with the release of the Xbox 360, and the other two consoles in 2006 and has lasted until where we currently are.
Now, Nintendo has followed in Microsoft’s footsteps and released the Wii U a year (or possibly even more) ahead of the competition.
Is this truly the next generation, or is Nintendo merely playing catch-up with a fancy controller?"
Hanzala from eXputer: "The cruel hammer of Nintendo has fallen. Farewell, 3DS and Wii U, you surely brightened my life and many others; you won't be forgotten."
A new list goes over eight of the the most useless amiibo, ranging from the Shadow Mewtwo card to the Qbby figure.
VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "10 years. It’s been almost 10 years since the last mainline release in the Mario Kart series. Mario Kart 8 came out for the Wii U in 2014 and became the best-selling game for the system by a sizeable margin, and later pulled the same magic trick on the Nintendo Switch under the stage name Deluxe. All in all, it's sold nearly 70 million copies over the last decade and is still selling like hot cakes to this day, so it’s no wonder Nintendo has been in no rush to replace it. However, with rumors of a new system being just around the corner, and reports a few years back that a new Mario Kart is indeed under way, it seems the era of 8 might very well be drawing to a close. It’s an exciting prospect to be sure, but after two Nintendo systems with Mario Kart 8 at their heart, a lot of questions remain about how Nintendo will choose to follow it up."
I hope they just keep building on Mario Kart 8; Add a track-creation tool, and probably open it up to more Nintendo IPs with new tracks and characters, so Metroid, Punch Out, Starfox, Animal Crossing, etc etc.
there wont be a new one until the switch 2 comes out.
nintendo needs their bangers early on
Really enjoying my Wii U. Good points about how the next gen will be more about the controllers than the tech... I want to play everything on my Wii U now but none of my friends have it :(
the gamepad is the future.when you can play COD BOP's and watch the 49er's on sunday at the same time.well i don't know about you but that is one of the best features in a gaming system in a long time.now that's a two screen experience.take notes MS,sony why is my vita not supporting this! not just four games but try your're hole ps3 collection.and why hasn't my vita receive an update to be use as a controller? i think sony was the best system this gen but if they want to sell more vita's they need to come with more features that u don't need to buy to copy's of the game to use them, looking at you capcom.
I don't think people understand how helpful the tablet is for games that have inventory items, maps, etc.. ZombiU is a perfect example of how well it can work...
