Halo 4 is at 3.8 million total copies, the PS3 version of Blops 2 outsold it because Halo is for 12 year olds - or at least people who are mentally 12 years old.

Blops also has 12 year olds but it doesn't make up as big a proportion as Halo. You can read the stats.

Plus, there's some serious competition with other big market games like Assassins Creed 3 which sold a hefty 3.5 million copies, twice what Revelations sold.

Mind you all, Modern Warfare sold a lot in its first month and sales dwindled more rapidly than Black Ops, they just made more of the sales early on, however it's still totally possible that Black Ops 2 will not dwindle as quickly and sales will decline more gradually than right away, meaning more people can possibly make BO2 even bigger than MW3, it just depends on what the next 2 months look like, because it isn't until February and March that we get Crysis 3, Dead Space 3, and Bioshock Infinite, where some serious competition will arrive.

One of the best of CoD's stories sure but it is far too cliche and nonsensical. I don't see why the tank thing with legs exists. The design choices are so stupid and for a war game you would think they would know more about strategic designs. I wouldn't say it is one of the best of recent times. Dozens of indie games that recently came out are better written and more creative and they cost little and had far less funding.

Black ops 2 fun. Be advised...its on multiple platforms, while halo 4 is only on 360. So of course black ops 2 (any cod) will sell more. 11 million copies is incredible though. Pretty much any game that reaches 1.5 sales is really good..3-5mil is outstanding...5-9mil is incedible...over that is classic.

CoD is probably the biggest selling game this generation. Each game has hit numbers some developers could only dream of reaching. So why are they so expensive? How about showing some appreciation to your user base and lower the price some?

But they could sell MW4 for a solid £50 and then ask for another £40 in DLC and people would still pay it. I guess people really do hate change.

At a time when Call of Duty was in a decline, Black Ops 2 has completely reinvented the series. Mark 2012 as the beginning of a new era in shooters. The single player campaign, the graphics, the sound, the extras such as zombies, and the stellar online play makes this EASILY game of the year... Possibly the best game in the modern gaming generation.

I'm skeptical of MW4... But at least we've been shown success is more than likely with these sequels.

hey people yes i bought bo2 as well but after 1 week i realised bo2 has nothing on mw3. I am from australia and the multiplayer is a buggy mass,laggy,the hit detection is rubbish on the smgs,the majority of the maps are for campers I mean there is cover everywhere and the scorestreaks are useless, you can't run and gun like you could in mw3, there is no smg like the pp90m1 in bo2, if you put on a silencer on any smg in bo2 is basically useless, the game forces you to take cover.

401k on PC? It actually seems like the PC community have given up on CoD. Well it actually might be because Black Ops 1 was practically unplayable to a lot of players on release. The people who played MW3 dwindled rather quickly after the release of the game. I say about 4-6 months out people started to stop playing. MW2 went for around 8-10 months on PC.

I'm proud to say that I did my part in not buying the same game every year. The first day was hard. Infact, I was suffering from withdrawal symptoms for a week, but it's been easier since then. Now I'll use that spare cash to buy Far Cry 3, which is apparently a very, very good game indeed.
