Lightning Returns team reaches development milestone

The Lightning Returns Facebook and Twitter accounts have seen recaps over this past week on topics such as battle customization, time elements, and even day and night cycles.

Today, producer Yoshinori Kitase spoke up for the first time in quite a while, providing a little insight on where Lightning Returns is currently headed, as well as when we can expect some new information.

So what exactly is getting you so excited for versus? I can barely remember anything about this game anymore. It's hard to understand how often I can read a comment shouting for versus but I don't really see how 1 or 2 trailers and a few blurry screenshots can get so much hype.trust me I was excited for versus when it was announced but that was 6 years ago with almost no news since.

The funny thing is someday this game might just be made and going off SE track record it will more than likely disappoint, so I suggest backing a new horse.

Can't wait for this game! I'll enjoy it as much as I enjoy the two previous 13s. 2013 is looking really damn good if we're not dead by the end of 2012.

Just like FF13-2 big things being hyped up like battle customization, time elements, and even day and night cycles will all be small minor things when you come to play the game....just trying to sucker you in one last time to buy something FF13-3 related.

ff13 sold 7-8 mil good numbers for the first ff this gen without knowing how the gamplay wil lturn out....

we play it hated it and then came ff13-2....numbers ? only 2mil on both platform combine....PATHETIC

I think it's a shame that the Lightning saga will ultimately be the one remembered by most gamers, and the dark horse Versus XIII will probably be one of those games that deserved the spotlight, but just never truly got it.

I remember the ad campaign for FFXIII. Square, you'd better get your act together and do something like that for Versus.

I was 24 with a Gameinformer magazine contemplating which FF I would buy first. Would I buy the more traditional FF13 first or would it be Versus which was said to be action oriented, and possibly brutal.

Although i do not deny that FF13 was a good game it sold well cause of the hype that it had going into a new generation of consoles.

Also the sales of the game was across 2 platforms & 5 million of that 6.71 million was on PS3 alone. If you compare the games that debut on new hardware it is really not that impressive compared to the 10 million for FF 7 (PS1) & the 8 million for FF 10 (PS2).

Will Lightning Returns be a good game, possible but one thing i do know is that it will divide the fanbase just as much as FF13 did.

ya i dont understand fans sometimes, i am a final fantasy fan. i like all of them some more than others but i do not dislike any of them, i can pick somethings i dislike from all of them but lke i said i liked all of them
