I disagree I hate finally fantasy as it is lost the leveling system of 1 - 99 which I felt was a good indication.
8 and 9 especially I loved grinding at the start as I felt that I could enjoy the story much more during as i wouldn't have to spend time away from the main plot.
However that is just my opinion on the matter.

grinding...i didnt finish some games as there was too much grinding, a little here and there, not so bad or if the battles are fun, then its no problem at all
